This book is an easy read and has lots of great pictures. I recently bought a yearling corn as my first snake and wanted a reference book. This was perfect. It was very informative and allowed me to feel comfortable that I could provide a happy, healthy life for my new pet. As well, it helped alleviate my fears of handling and feeding my snake, as well as of salmonella. There is a great section on breeding that I don't think I will ever use, but found very interesting!

This is a book I would expect at a pet store but pet stores no longer carry books. (In my area at least) Got this before my kid can get a pet snake. Easy to read, easy to follow, from kids to adults.

This offered quite a bit of information on corn snakes and their care and requirements. I found it highly useful to read before getting a corn snake - I was able to prepare a good, stable environment for the animal and knew what to expect/how to handle an animal in a brand new husbandry setting.

Lots of great info in this book! I did my research online, but got this book for extra reading. I'm a new corn snake owner and I've really learned a lot. My baby is growing like a weed and I refer to the book when I question anything about his health or growth!! This book is very helpful!

I've been planning to get a corn snake of my own, something I am hesitant about seeing as I don't wish to dive right in and am gathering more information but this book is amazing! It's actually answering many of my questions and even has little facts or information that genuinely have me amazed when I read them! It's an absolutely awesome buy and I love it!

Sie haben ihre langjährige Erfahrung in dieses Buch einfliessen lassen und geben zahlreiche Hinweise zur Haltung, Krankheiten und auch Genetik und Farbmorphen von Kornnattern (Pantherophis guttatus). Das Buch ist gut verständlich beschränkt sich auf alle Wesentlichen Aspekte der Haltung und insbesondere Züchtung von Kornnattern. Für den Kauf zu bedenken sind folgende Aspekte: a) Das Buch stammt aus den USA, ist also komplett in Englisch geschrieben. b) Das Buch beschreibt die in den USA geltenden Haltungsvorschriften, welche von denen in Deutschland z.T. abweichen c) Nicht alle der beschriebenen Medikamente sind in Deutschland erhältlich. Desweiteren fehlt der Verweis auf Tierärzte, welche auf Reptilien spezialisiert sind. Dies ist aber für Vorsorgeuntersuchungen und Behandlungen absolut unerlässlich.

I have kept my cornsnake for nearly a year and had got everything I needed to know from the forums at cornsnake.co.uk but you can't go wrong having a real book to hand. Although obviously written by americans all the info translates across nicely (you can simply ignore the section on live feeding if you only feed freeze/thawed like me). It's a good reference book and some of the pictures are gorgeous. Especially good is the section of morphs which takes up the last half/third of the book - all with pictures and histories of the morphs. Physically the book is smaller than I expected (A5) but is of great quality.

If you are thinking of getting a corn snake, then you MUST read this book first! It contains ALL of the information that you need to care for a corn snake, including choosing a snake, getting the right terrarium, feeding it, and keeping it healthy. It is also a great guidebook to the species. There are lots of great photos of all of the variations in domestic corn snakes. Corn snakes make an excellent first snake because they don't grow very big and they are fairly easy to keep alive and healthy. Snakes aren't like mammals--they require a lot more care and consideration. This book will help you get the most out of your corn snake and ensure that you enjoy it for many years!

Ein sehr gutes Buch für Interessierte. Es ist eider nur auf Englisch erhältlich. Schöne Bilder von Varianten, die man teils in Deutschland kaum jemals zu Gesicht bekommt.

If you need to know about corn snakes this is the book to get. I wish new owners would purchase and read the book written by the pioneers of corn snake breeding.
