Great poles at a great price
Really solid carbon hiking poles at ~half the cost of comparable. I took these on 120 miles of the Haute Route in Switzerland and they held up great. The carbide tips gripped the granite perfectly, were very light and easy to collapse and pack away. Highly recommend!

So good they've been stolen twice
These poles are a fantastic buy. The carbon fiber gives a lightweight pole that still feels substantial enough to support your weight. I also like that the carbon isn't noisy like aluminum if it hits anything on the trail. The cork handles are comfortable, even if you are a bit sweaty. The quick lock is quite sturdy and never slipped on me. Most importantly - my knees did not hurt on steep terrain when hiking with these. I even found that the poles improved my shoulder posture and reduced headaches with a heavy load. I was so happy with my purchase - unfortunately I am ridiculously absent minded and left them leaning up against my car in the fall. I drove back as soon as I realized what happened, but five hours had passed and they had been taken. After six months without them, I caved and purchased a second pair last week before taking my youngest son on his first backpacking trip. The whole hike I was thinking I should have re-purchased them sooner. Unfortunately (again) I didn't pack the car on our way out and didn't think to double check that they made it in. This time I realized what had happened as soon as I got home and immediately turned around and drove back to the trail. In the three hours I was gone a group of hikers found them, hung them on a sign, and then someone else came along and took them. They are really nice poles. I can't believe I had them for less than 72 hours. I miss them already. So do my menisci. Incidentally, if you found some poles hanging on a sign in Lackawana State Forest and are checking out reviews to see if they are any good, feel free to return them.

Wonderful well made.
These came easy to adjust, are extremely light weight and fun to go walking and hiking with. The handles are very comfortable too. .

Great performance, but other reviews left me worried.
Purchased as an alternative for more expensive trekking poles. There are plenty of mixed reviews out there, and that made me worried. That being said- I was very satisfied with the product that I received. Light weight, reasonably sturdy, and little fuss with making sure they worked well. Pros: Price, weight, materials used, and (so far) durability Cons: Fear of failure, adjusting retention locks on poles....and did I mention fear of failure. In the Sangre De Cristo range for four days. Leaf litter forest floor for a cumulative day and there rest is above tree line and rocky, at best. They held up well with no apparent damage due to normal use. No breakage or malfunction. I was cautious of the tension, because it is user changeable, on the retention locks on the sticks. I didn't want to over-torque them causing some sort of damage to carbon fiber or structure of the pole. They ARE cheaper and they can only be made cheaper through a few ways; I didn't want to test out the limits of the particular type of carbon that was used in their manufacturing. Hope that your pair treat you as well as mine have.

Very Functional & Light For The Price
I took these on a long hiking trip and very much appreciated the additional power from using my arms and felt more confident negotiating streams and tight trails with them. The handles are reasonably comfortable, the cork feels good, but the straps do come loose and require tightening now and then. I have only used the smaller baskets. They are easily adjusted and feel secure. They are light and much lower costs than what I saw in recreational stores.

Great trekking poles
These poles are exactly as described and functional. It comes with a carrying case and multiple tips for various hiking and walking terrain. It is durable and holds its position well once set. Additionally, it is easy to adjust and shorten for putting in its’ case and in suitcases for traveling. Be aware that most airlines do NOT allow trekking poles to be brought on board. These poles seemed expensive while I considered what to purchase, but they have easily been worth the price.

Probably the best lightweight poles for this price on the market.
These hiking poles are awesome for hiking and backpacking. They are extremely lightweight and very durable. They do not condense down as much as some other poles because they have only two sections, but that was not a deal breaker for me.

Saved Me From Knee Replacement~*~
If anybody had ever told me that I would be extolling the virtues of trekking poles last summer I would have laughed at them, why would I review trekking poles? I love to walk, but mountain climbing, off road excursions or snow and ice activities are not my favorite things. But life has a way of making us rethink things sometimes. And, just a week before Christmas in 2015 I fell and sustained a tib/fib plateau fracture to my left knee which required two surgeries to repair and five months in a wheelchair. My surgeon's prognosis was dismal and ultimately she thought I would have to have knee replacement surgery, but she was not encouraged that it would be a particularly favorable outcome because the fracture was so severe that my knee and foot were constantly very swollen and painful, and I was still taking a boatload of pain medicine after five months. One afternoon though, a very nice couple saw me walking with a walker and recommended the Cascade Trekking Poles and adjusted the height to the appropriate level and "Voila" the pain or swelling have nearly disappeared. Having the poles at the right height places the stress on the pelvic girdle where it belongs, thus removing the pressure on the knees and reducing the pain and swelling.. If one Googles the Cascade website they will find a video that teaches one how to adjust the poles to the appropriate settings. Be certain to purchase the snap lock poles because I understand that the other option is not nearly as secure as the snap lock. I have read some reviews that claim these poles are quite fragile but I am an absolute klutz, I kid you not, always have been and always will be. I can hurt myself opening a bandaid. So no matter how careful I am with my poles, they have often hit the ground, on concrete, hard floors, and in the garden. They have been dropped, stepped on, tripped over, you name it, and yet they remain resilient and intact. I use and abuse them everyday, from sun-up to bedtime and they continue look like new. I have found many uses for these poles besides ambulation, reaching for my shoes, mopping up water or other substances spilled on the floor, moving thorny rose bushes out of the way, or sweeping cobwebs from the ceiling when I remember to look up. If a reach or a task needs doing, the poles engage more often than not. They are absolutely amazing and useful, an incredible value for an incredible product. Although I can now walk unassisted, my mind is predisposed to limping which aggravates my knee, so I will continue to use these for sometime in the future just to cement the idea of proper positioning to my brain and improve my posture. My surgeon reports that she is beginning to see quite a number of patients using these trekking poles so I suspect they will soon be common place in the patient as an ideal recovery tool for knees, backs, and other alignment complaints and requisite surgeries. So good on Cascade Trekking Poles, I am sure they did not anticipate a side road into the medical community, but it is wonderful that they are useful to all populations and not just for outdoor sports enthusiasts. As per Amazon's wonderful service the poles arrived on time, and were well packaged. I highly recommend these tools to others, whether using them for recreational activities or medical recovery. They are well made and certainly worth the price. Still laughing at myself here as I trek along~*~
