Everyday Superfood Organic Rice Protein Powder, 190g | Natural Water-Based Extraction from Brown Rice | Labe Tested | Unflavoured

i've had 2 batches so far, the second batch tasted absolutely fine, very nice even, but the first batch, as other people have said they've also experienced, the raw product was not the best tasting. having had to have what drs say are some of the worst tasting medications ever i'm not at all opposed to unpleasant things when necessary but this batch did taste unpleasant and did make me feel sick. so with this batch i tried numerous ways and have only found one but it has 2 variations, and am so glad i have. because i've found a way to make this unpleasant batch not only tolerable, but quite yummy. one way is i put 5 teaspoons (15g) in a large glass jar with 60ml of water, stir it so all the power is thoroughly mixed with the water, and microwave it until it begins to volcanoe up which only takes about 45 seconds, and when I'm ready i drink it like that or topped up with water. it's so silky smooth, and although it's been over 25 years since I've been able to have anything of the like if memory serves it tastes a bit like a cross between a caramel shake and cookie dough. if you could have it cold or warm it would be even better. the other way is i put 4 teaspoons (12g) in a glass bowl with 2 spoons (10ml) or a little more of water, swirl it so all the powder gets water on, then microwave it. if i am able i do it for over 2mins and then when i'm ready i eat it as it is like that which if memory serves it tastes like the crumble on an apple crumble. if i am unable i microwave it for just 60 seconds but it's more powdery than crumbly. i really hope this will help people if they also recieve different batches, as this rice protein powder is one of the purest available (hence why I've tried so hard to find a way to use it all). ps the price has suddenly jumped from 14.95 to 22.95 though so i hope this will go back down again or i can't continue to buy 😞

Ordered several times and am happy with the product, I use it to make protein shakes, mixed with cocoa powder and sweetener and it tastes fine. As other people have mentioned, the taste isn't great, so I would definitely recommend adding some kind of flavouring and mixing well! The pea protein has a more neutral flavour in my opinion, so that may be a better option if you are mixing it into things with gentler flavours. This most recent package arrived split open in the box, so it could do with better packaging, maybe even just wrapping the bag in cling film as it would at least stop the powder spreading around the box. Haven't had that issue with previous orders, so maybe it is a one off.

I tried the smaller version and it gave me a bad reaction after taking it for a week and had to stop drinking it. I tried to return the unopened larger pack I bought but it said seller does not offer refunds. Not happy at all with the customer service.

Okay so I bought the 1.8kg bag. As another reviewer said, it has a strange unpleasant bitter, very powdery taste. Not nice. At 80% protein it is certainly good value, and I always buy unflavoured, no added yukkies. Next time I will go back to pea protein, also not so great tasting, but a bit more pleasant (this one leaves your teeth feeling like they've got a powder coating). Don't bother with hemp powder, as that's only 50% protein.

Great rice protein and great price. Just ordered my 2nd lot but a larger packet. Tastes exactly the same as other rice proteins and blends up nicely would recommend

Not the best tasting protein powder but a methionine content not rivalled but any other plant protein. Blends well with pea protein for an amino acid profile similar to dairy proteins. Cannot argue with the price- exceptional value!

There was a tear in the bag upon arrival but the situation was dealt with quickly and I got a full refund which is why I have given this 4 stars.
