Can this be applied with a garden type pump sprayer? Or does it need a special sprayer?

The Product is corrosive and a the SPRAYER NO 50P POLY (4770-0) should be used, however if it is for a one time application and you wash the sprayer thoroughly after use, you should be fine. please confirm that the plastic on the sprayer is durable and not susceptible to corrosive elements.

What are the main differences between nu-brite and cal-brite?

I believe Cal Brite can be used on an indoor evaporator cool, while any Brite can ONLY be used on the outdoor condenser.

How to get it to foam?

Put it in a spray bottle with water and spray with a thick setting, will self foam......caution use gloves eye pro.....it burns skin.....fully rinse after set time
