Will it fit the 2014 FJ Cruiser?

Yes. I installed it two weeks ago. Follow the directions that come with the cover. With the factory installed Subwoffer it's a tight fit. I expected a better design from Toyota, but it works.

Affirmative. Fits my 2012 FJ. It's even sturdy enough you could put light stuff on top, like a set of toilet paper rolls or the like. I use it as a shelf when I have to make room underneath on grocery day. Nothing too heavy.

Does not retract. It's just a cover.

Will this fit on a 2013 Toyota Matrix?

No, FJs only. Toyota only makes the factory option cover 64910-02030-B0 for the Matrix.
