Why did you pick this product vs others?:This one works great - don't ever waste your money buying one that has protective blade gaurds, options for doing capsule-shaped, etc. Those are horrid and don't split well. This one is great, I can sit, watch TV and split and entire bottle easily and efficiently (rather than do it on a daily basis). This is the one to buy -simple, easy, good design and it works.

When my doctor told me I'd need to cut a tiny oval pill in half I wondered if it was even possible. Initially, I ordered a different splitter (the Orsini 2/pkg) from Amazon and found it very effective at crushing my pills. Since I wanted them cut in half, instead of crushed into dust, I ordered this Acu-Life version instead. When it arrived, it looked identical, except for the color, to the Orsini splitter that did not work. I decided to try it and was thrilled when it cut my pill in half. This one costs a little more, but I found it to be more effective and well worth the cost. It's still tricky to get a small, oval pill lined up inside the splitter, but I suspect that I'll get better with practice.

I have the exact pill cutter from years ago. It works beautifully yet but thought I'd get another one to keep on hand. What a mistake that was. This one looks exactly like the old one but for some reason only works on very large pills. If you want to do any cutting of a smaller pill, forget it. Pill moves when the razor touches it, slides all over and you get little tiny bits of the pill. It could never cut a small pill in half. I am so sorry I bought it.

I used to have to cut bupropion in quarters for my dog (now just in half). This pill is not intended to be split, so it’s very thick. It broke two of my other pill cutters over time. This pill cutter cuts it with no problem! I also like this pill cutter for tiny pills like ondansetron because the blade is lower profile, as I called it. So it can reach the tiniest of pills to cut in half. I am a pharmacy technician at an animal hospital and I had my clinic switch over to these pill cutters instead of our old ones that we give out to clients. Really superior, basic pill cutter.
