Great for cats
Works great for trimming kitten and cat nails! No need to spend more money when these work perfectly. This was my first time trimming pet nails. I recommend watching a bunch of YouTube how-to videos first if you're inexperienced. (My tips for a crazy, psycho cat: Give cat wet food with water to distract it for a while at a table/desk or somewhere comfortable for you to sit. Hold cat's paw and gently push from below to let claws out. Trim just a little at first to gain cat's trust; next time trim more. Make sure to never trim the quick, aka the pink flesh which you can see thru the clear claw part. Have stiptic powder on hand just in case you do to cut too far to clot the bleeding; thankfully, I have never needed my powder. It's ok if you can't trim all the front and back nails fast enough before cat wants down; just do the rest later. Don't force your cat to get its nails trimmed; if they don't like it, just stop and try again later. My cat will sometimes get down and walk away multiple times because he doesn't want nails trimmed, but he always comes back right away because he wants the "special" food, which I only feed him when trimming nails.) Hope this helps!

Makes Nail Trimming a Breeze!
I have 4 cats, 2 of which are not fans of nail trimming (unfortunately, these are the 2 with the sharpest claws). We'd been using a nail trimmer that we bought at some store for a few dollars, assuming that just like human nail clippers, it's a pretty basic tool and therefore relatively inexpensive. These trimmers worked, but it was difficult to get the angle right, especially with cats who were being fussy to begin with.Well, one of my cats started to develop some super curled claws and she was getting stuck on everything! Carpet, her bed, my bed, my clothes- basically anything she stepped on. She was even getting her plush toys stuck to her paws when trying to bat them around. So I did a little research and found these clippers. Figured it was worth a shot and boy was it! These are so much better than the cheap pair we were using! The blade is sharp and the handles make it so much easier to use. We are now able to trim claws quickly with a nice clean cut and minimal fuss! Before they know it, all their nails are trimmed and they are ready to run full speed across the house for whatever reason they do that.

Using to trim gerbil teeth
Our vet taught us how to trim our geriatric gerbil's teeth since he cannot maintain his own teeth anymore. This is no easy task but the small size of these trimmers makes it at least a little bit easier, since there doesn't seem to be gerbil teeth-specific trimmers on the market. They are very sharp - good for a quick and clean cut but bad if you accidentally get his gums or lips caught anywhere near them. A metal nail file is needed to both block off the teeth from the rest of his mouth during trimming and to file the sharp teeth edges that result. If you've been told to do this with your tiny friend... good luck! It takes a lot of practice!

Nice
I've used these a few times now on our 2, 6-month-old kittens (brothers). The curved blade took a bit of getting used to since I had used straight blades with other cats, but once I made the adjustment, I definitely like these better. The material on the handle keep the clippers firmly in my hand and I feel like I have total control over them. Very nice!NOTE: A trick our vet used the one time she did a complimentary nail trim has been a game-changer. It takes two people, but have one person sit down, holding the cat with its bottom on the lap and supporting it under the arms, facing outward (cat's back to your belly). Then with the other hand, hold a bowl or plate of wet cat food slightly above their head so that they extend their head upward (and out of your way) to eat. The other person does the toe nail clipping. Works like a charm for our kitties and makes the entire experience fast and stress free.

Useful even on an uncooperative cat
Clipping a cat's claws can be a harrowing experience involving flying hair, growling, hissing, and bloodshed. Having a tool that's easy to use on a combative or just plain belligerent animal is critical. These clippers are simple and effective, and I was able to finish the job very quickly. I like that the clippers are curved for safety, so as not to poke an already irked animal. On the package, the instructions for use were perfectly clear, thanks to the very helpful illustrations of the cat's claws (where to clip to avoid nicking the quick) but the other instructions were so oddly translated from another language as to be hilariously baffling. I offer what I hope is a clearer translation for the manufacturer to use (you're welcome):Check nails and clip every two weeks. Do not use if your pet has injuries to its paws or feet.WARNING:1. Keep clippers away from fire and high temperatures.2. Keep out of reach of children.3. Thoroughly wash and dry clippers after each use.4. Please use care when clipping your pet's nails and claws to avoid injury.
