Best compact backpack for the money
I bought this pack after struggling to get my previous bulging backpack to fit in the overhead compartment on planes. When you’re a business traveler that needs to take quick trips but you need to take your office with you, this is a lightweight and compact pack that also looks great. Aside from looks, the storage areas are roomy and smart. You don’t ever have to worry about fitting this pack into an overhead compartment on smaller planes. I’m able to pack my 15” Laptop, a portable scanner, all the power cords and charging cords, a mouse, my Powerbeats headphones, notebooks, snacks, portable speaker, and even a slimline charger. There is a convenient port for connecting devices to your charger. The straps are durable and comfortable. You can even carry this pack horizontally like a briefcase. It comes with a shoulder strap as well. It has a very durable handle on the top and on the side. The zippers are good quality. I should have bought this pack long ago. I’ll buy another one if this one ever wears out.

A very good choice for everyday use.
An excellent purchase. I'm very satisfied with this backpack. I made a choice to go for a slim backpack that would take the place of my briefcase. This is lightweight, stylish and functions well. There's space for my laptop, the everyday stuff that I carry around and a small amount of work. This isn't big enough for travel, but it is a very good choice for everyday use. Also, I was concerned that it wouldn't have a side compartment for a water bottle but it actually does.

Great for under airplane seat size
I have become quite the backpack snob over the past year as I started traveling for work more. Some guys have shoe collections - I started a backpack collection. #obsessed. Like many, I was served an ad for the Nomatic collapsible backpack and started doing research after choking on their $200+ price point. I recently purchased the Bange Weekender Travel Backpack which is essentially a carbon of the Nomatic at 1/4 the price. It is a GREAT backpack. See my review there if you want more detail on my experience with that backpack.I did also purchase this Mark Ryden 3-in-1 backpack after an issue I had with the Bange. The Bange advertises it's depth (or height if you lay it on its back) as 7.1 inches. I have come to learn that the dimensions listed for many backpacks seem to be the "pre load" dimensions. Meaning that if you load it with an average amount of stuff, you can expect a 1.5-2" increase in depth. That of course poses a problem when you rely on fitting your backpack under the airplane seat which has an average height of 8".This backpack has an advertised 6.9" depth. So fully loaded (not STUFFED, but with a laptop, iPad, tons of cables, and several accessories), it comes in just under 8" which meets the requirement for fitting it under the seat. Again, from experience, add 2" to the depth dimension of any backpack you are looking at.Aside from that, features like the hideaway shoulder straps, side handle, and luggage handle strap are features I consider mandatory these days. The side carry shoulder strap is a nice touch that the Bange and Nomatic do not have. The only criticism so far would be:* - the quality of the clips that attach the straps to the back are not as substantial as the Bange.* - It would be nice to have a few external small pockets to store smaller items such as headphones, etc.* - It would be nice if the main compartment opened completely (like the Bange) which would allow for easier loading.Aside from these shortcomings, I do think this bag has a good balance of features and compact size to make it the ideal option for anyone looking for a compact but functional backpack for travel..especially when fitting it under an airplane seat is important to you.

Functional high quality backpack at an affordable price
I was looking for a more versatile backpack to fit my needs. This one check a lot of my boxes.Pros:1. Nice slim design (and remains slim even when I pack it with quite a bit of stuff)2. 3-in-1, the ability to transform it easily from backpack to handheld or messenger bag is really a plus. ( I use it mainly as a messenger bag unles it is fully loaded with heavier content)3. Pocket for both (regular) iPad and laptop in the main compartment. There is also a big enough compartment outside for iPad if you wish.4. Water resistance. That is important with electronics.5. Usb plug on the bag. (This allows you to charge your electronics easily. I attached a retractable usb cable to it so that I will have the needed cable at all times.)Cons: Yes there are some cons but not too many but most can be resolved with DIY solution. (all except #4)1. Not enough small pockets within each larger pocket for organziation. The bag has 4 zipper areas that can acce from exterior of the bag.- The main compartment also has on large zipper compartment. It would have been better if they make it into 3 compartments. Then one can be use to house the power bank.- the middle compartment is the only one that has a good organization layout. There is a two pen holder and then two more pouches. One of the pouch also has a zipper mesh pouch in front.- the outside has two zipper area. The larger one has a pocket but IMO it is not deep enough to be useful.- the smaller one is perfect spot to store your shoulder strap when you are not using it.2. The middle compartment zipper only opens on the top (when you orient it in backpack position). This makes it slightly hard to get or find stuff in that space. But, it is that way because it is a 3-in-1. So if you plan to store many different objects in that compartment, I would suggest using some organizational pouches so you don't end up having to dig deep for a particular content.3. No key holder in the bag. It would have been nice if they put one in either the middle compartment and one in the bigger outside pocket. This would allow users to have easy access to their keys regardless of whether they are using it as a messenger bag or backpack.4. Water bottle mesh pocket. To keep it slim and 3-in-1. That's hard to do. It was one of the boxes that didn't get checked but I am ok with it.So overall it definitely meets my expectation.
