Video Capture Windows Mac

Bought so I can watch sky Q in a window when using my computer whilst others watch on the tele.The sky mini box has a separate video/audio output that can be plugged into composite cables with a converter cable supplied by sky. This can be used at the same time as the HDMI cable output is plugged into the television. It’s not totally perfect though depending upon your perfections.There is a time lag. The picture and sound from the device after being processed by the computer does not sync with the actual television. However, if you are out of earshot and eyeline of the television you can of course sync the picture with the sound on the actual computer and then be completely unaware of this occurrence. This is easily done in VLC which is my preferred video playback software.Another slight disappointment was the picture quality. Whilst I have decided that it is adequate for my desired usage (to keep watching television or sky recordings in a window whilst I am working) I don’t think you would use it as a complete alternative. The picture is good but has a slightly blurred picture quality which can clearly be seen when any words appear on screen. I would have to caveat though that this may be my setup, limitations in what I am trying to achieve or sky limitations and may not be the total fault of the product.Overall, I am happy as it does adequately what I wanted to do. I had no problems that others have reported. Mine worked out of the box, with no drivers to load, first time. I am using a new desktop running the latest Windows 10.

No audio. Returned.

Worked first time with Apple M1 Pro OS 14.1.2 -> Sony Handicam Hi8. No picture and sound degradation. Best download set up guide as font too small on enclosed doc. Be sure to follow set up as instructed, Windows set up provided only but easy to work out for a MAC.

I struggled for a few days to get this to work, trying the gadget on two different laptops running Vista and Win 10.Output from my camcorder, a well functioning Canon UC8000E, and Samsung VHS Video Tape player/recorder, also working properly, resulted in an insane jumping of the picture in frame, this was continuous, thus destroying any chance of making a record of my precious tapes, making them un-watchable. On the plus side, the direct STREAMING output from the camcorder was not affected and the frame was clear and still. Sadly, this was not a function I could use. I re-installed software and updated drivers a number of times and tried tried three different softwares for the output, in case there was a fault there in the OBS browser, but on each one the jumping frame was always present. Such a shame. This item appears well made and arrived swiftly...there was no mini-cd enclosed, but I was able to download what I needed directly anyway. There are a number of competitive versions of this out there..ALL of them from China, and I will think twice before ordering another version. I might just go very cheap and hope for the best! Good luck if you are trying to archive old tapes. It's a bit of a minefield out there!

I bought this to convert 20 plus year old hi8camcorder tapes to digital copies and am very happy with the results. Relatively easy to set up and use, and great for backing up your old video tapes before they perish!

Instructions were poor.No way of find8ng out how to resolve problem with having no picture showing within the app.Not a satisfactory overall experience with the product.Unable to do anything.Disappointing purchase.

Got this to capture old video on a Windows 11 PC. I had something similar from 10 years ago that refused to work properly. The August Video Capture USB stick works flawlessly.I didn't have to install any drivers, Windows picked it up and sorted everything out. I used the OBS software as the included manual suggested to capture the video. That software is good but not intuitive to configure initially. Download the instructions PDF linked here on Amazon and you'll be fine.You have to set up the video and the audio devices in OBS (pointing to the USB Video stick), and then set the Output window size to the same size as the input video. Overall a great device that does the job perfectly.

Nice
