I'm allergic to dust, dust mites, pollen, grass and who knows what else. I live on the great lakes so not only do I have to deal with local pollens, I am exposed to pollens from elsewhere that the winds carry in. In the fall my allergies are so bad that my eyes swell shut without meds. I take Allegra D year round and have for several years. I have not become "immune" to it and without it I can't even function throughout my day. Unlike Claritin, it doesn't dry me out and it works better than Zyrtec. My only complaint is there is too much packaging. The box the bottle comes in is excessive in size and I feel it is wasteful.

I don't know what happened with Zyrtec it used to work for me but not this season so I started trying different allergy medicine and this has helped the most over the others I tried including my used to go to Zyrtec. My friend took one and she said it worked for her too and that she was finally able to breathe! Guess I'm now an Allegra user unless it stops working for me.

Cost alittle more on line - but works great for allergies.

Used to use Allegra some years ago. At some point I switched to the generic version and was not getting the same results. Finally decided to go back to non-generic and it definitely is working better for me than any of the generics I have used. I have had both good and bad experiences with generics, and in this case the brand name makes a positive difference -- at least for me.
