One of the Better purchases I have made this year!
I really enjoy this sunshade. Easy to put up and easy down if strong winds come up. I work as a medic on Film sets and it has worked perfectly to shade the back of my Ford Escape; my "working truck" in a variety of environments. Keeps my sunscreen and comfort care out of the direct sun and provides a shady spot to sit in locations where there is no shade. The weights for the legs are perfect on asphalt or sand where staking out would be difficult or impossible. Totally worth the money!!

Nice canopy for tailgating from SUV but blows in the wind
I sell at a flea market on weekends with my '99 Ford Explorer parked with the hatch open behind my tables. It took me a while to discover how to attach it, even with the help of other people at the market. I went home the first day, read the instructions more carefully, and figured it out. It's actually pretty easy and fast to put up, by myself or with a helper. It gives a bit of nice shade if we're sitting on the tailgate. Sitting in front of the tailgate, depending on the sun, it still gives some protection. It's not big enough to put a table under without positioning the table right next to the bumper, so it doesn't work for that. I can set up a couple of lawn chairs and a cooler underneath, between my tables (out in the open) and the vehicle. I'm happy enough with it, but the round disks you fill with sand to hold the front posts are not heavy enough to hold it down even in a mild wind. They slide around, then the aluminum poles come out and the thing collapses. So for a hot, non-windy day, it works well enough and it looks good — I get lots of compliments and curious questions. In mild wind it is unstable.

Looks good from a distance, but not quality materials up close.
I set this up in my driveway to make sure I could do it by myself before I was out somewhere. The instructions are clear enough, and I like that the poles are color coded to their places. I filled the weights with water for this and I don’t think that is heavy enough so I would use sand in the future (which is what the instructions say to use but I don’t have any laying around). The top pole wouldn’t really stay up for me, it’s possible that is because of my car’s smaller size, but I think it would work better if it had the same pockets as the other poles to keep the fabric taut.I don’t think that the overall quality is very good, it was only “used” for about 10 mins before taking it down again and noticed significant wear on the pole pockets already & the long magnet at the top edge has broken.I admit I did buy this over other options because of the color, but I’m not sure that it’s worth it if it will fall apart after one season.

Nice looking but cheaply made components and not suitable for every vehicle.
Cheaply made components and does not work easily with a Chevy Tahoe, Suburban, or GMC Yukon. The lift gate is aluminum so it’s not suitable for the magnets attaching the cover and just draping the cover over the lift gate does not work. Also the bungee tension pulls down on the tailgate so that does not stay fully open.

Do NOT buy if you have a power/adjustable tailgate and want to mount this with the tailgate open
This product was reasonably easy to setup, however you will likely have a serious problem that makes it unusable if your vehicle has a power/adjustable tailgate (and most power tailgates let you adjust how far they open). There are bungee cords you need to attach from the end of the canopy (that drapes over the tailgate with the magnet) down to the bumper/wheel well/tire rim. The purpose is to hold the canopy in place - so they need to be snug/have tension on them.If you have a power/adjustable tailgate then that tension will start adjusting your tailgate - and closing it - so you will not be able to setup the canopy up with the tailgate open; you would need to have the tailgate closed (or only partially open) and instead mount it on the roofline...which if you were planning on using the back of your SUV to store things and have access to them under the canopy defeats the purpose.I'm guessing that on vehicles which don't have a power/adjustable tailgate this will work quite well - those tailgates tend to "lock" in their single open position and that should be enough resistance where you could secure the bungee cords without any issue. The shipper had the item in the mail quickly, it was packaged well, and so on - so nothing at all bad to say about the shipper!

Very good shade solution
There was a little bit of a learning curve with the initial setup. You really have to curve the poles to get them to fit into the cloth slots. But once you realize that they aren't going to break and just go ahead and bend them, all is good. Setup is pretty quick once you know what you're doing. I set it up on a semi-windy day (probably 10-15 mph) and it did fine. I wouldn't try it if winds were 20 to 30. I have used it on several occasions and am very happy with my purchase.

Just buy it it’s well made and perfectly designed
I cannot say enough good things about this product! I mean look how cool it looks on the back of my Prius! Although my Prius is actually not magnetic on the part where it’s supposed to connect magnetically it still works perfectly with the bungee cords that they include. It gives me the perfect amount of shade when I’m camping in my car. And everyone is always wowed by how cool it looks on our Hotel Prius. It’s made very well the seams are tight and it has withstood several camping trips with Highwinds. We can stand up while inside. Just buy it, it’s worth the money.
