Excellent Quality
Alright, it is a little complicated to use at first, but once I learned how to flip through the menu and identify each probe, it started to look easy, lol. The unit is sturdy, and the cables are tough. I keep the instructions in the silverware drawer because I know the next time I go to use it I will have forgotten something, lol.The alarm feature is a game changer. I need 3 different read temps in candle making and I can set each probe to one specific temp and not have to adjust any of the others. It almost feels like cheating, lol. The probes are long enough to sink deep into a roast (or in my case, a 15 gallon wax melter) and I can set the alarms on each probe separately for the different phases of the candle making process. It holds a charge for hours and hours, too and uses a c style charging adapter. The accuracy is something I can only guess at but there is a calibration feature I haven't tried using it yet.I asked Gemini to suggest a good quality thermometer suitable to the kind of abuse candle making will subject it to and this was the first one it suggested. I am pleased with the thermometer. Anything that makes my candle making more enjoyable is a good find and this is definitely a good find.

Definitely Worth a Try -Excellent Product
Excellent product and beyond well priced. We needed to get a secondary thermomemter as our higher priced TP was giving occasional false readings. After using the InkBird to confirm readings, we quickly realized that the InkBird was the better of the two thermometers, and now using it as our stand-alone thermomemter for BBQ and indoor cooking. Excellent viewing light, hold button, auto off. Highly recommend.

Nice Temp Probe, Doesn't Charge with Common Power Sources
I bought this temp probe along with a few others to find one I would be most happy with. As a result I didn't first use it for about 14 months as I tried out others. I had just forgotten I had bought it. Having finally used it I can say it is head and shoulders better than the other $20-ish probes I've bought in terms of display readability, display backlight staying on a reasonable amount of time, and accuracy. Some good "looking" probes just fail - see my review for this piece of crap:https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RYSQH6RRI3KZL?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srpSome probes have unreadable displays. Most probes have a ridiculously short backlight timeout, as if 2 seconds is enough time to read temp inside a smoker cabinet. The bottom line is that every other probe I've tried in this price range sucks. That was, until I had used this Inkbird happily for a few cooks and it started to read "lo" on the display and I noticed there was no backlight. I had thrown away the box a long time ago and frankly forgotten it was rechargeable, but no worry, underneath a rubber cap there's an obvious USB-C socket, so let's plug it in. Nope, nothing I do will cause it to start charging. Luckily I happened upon one Q&A here that mentioned the cable (I think he meant charger block but who knows?) that comes with the Inkbird must be used, and that PD or advanced type power adapters won't work on this. Why? I just went through this with my wife's "all of a sudden" not charging iPod Classic - I'm sure the reality is that she had never tried charging it with a standard or modern wall adapter and assumed that since that didn't work, the cable or player must have just become defective. Nope, it turns out Apple did this too, back in the late 'oughts. There might be a reason for proprietary-loving Apple to do stupid things, but for a generic temp probe to require a specific charger in 2020+? Weird. I'd absolutely love this probe and try to give it 6 stars if it just had a button cell battery, or even a 5 year life battery permanently installed. The price is so cheap, and the fact that you CAN charge it with a PC port or certain low-tech adapters is good enough for me to buy another. But why???
