Genuine Military MRE Meal 23 with Inspection Date of 2021+ Pepperoni Pizza

Everything I got was awesome! The coffee was better than the kind in my Keurig. The chocolate shake was thick and flavorful, but it's very chunky, so I'm gonna just use my frother on it once it charges to break it up a bit. Although I've heard military vets say "If it ain't chunky, it ain't good." lol. I was excited to be able to try the jalapeno cheese spread I've heard so much about, or "liquid gold" as I've heard it been called. Although I'm sure the other spreads were good as well, I was mostly looking forward to that specific one. Happy to say it lived up to the hype. Tasted good with the crackers I got, which actually tasted really good by themselves too. The pizza I got also was very good, not sure why so many people say otherwise. Tastes almost like the pizza Lunchables I used to eat as a kid, but more flavorful and less processed tasting lol. The heater worked pretty well, and although the pizza wasn't heated all the way in every spot, it still tasted really good even cold, which I'm pretty sure It's designed for. The cobbler and cookie were nice also. I'm not much of a berry cobbler person myself, but this one tastes pretty good, about the same as the kind I've had before, which I can't remember if it was store-bought or homemade. I probably should've heated it up, because after I used the heater on the pizza it didn't work really well on the cobbler, so it might've tasted better after a nuke. Nonetheless, I finished most everything it came with. Everything except the cookie and protein shake, which I will definitely wanna finish later. Not much to say about the gum, tasted like normal mint gum. Was the kind with the nice crunchy outer shell. Came with everything I expected in the accessory pack, the cream and sugar for the coffee, salt, and a moist towelette, as well as the spoon, which I used with the cobbler. Every MRE, as far as I know, even comes with toilet paper, and matches, which will help after you use the toilet paper lmao.

I wanted a genuine MRE, and this was it. We took these backpacking, and my daughter appreciated all the extras (including candy) that comes with the MRE. I was mainly worried about the heating element, but it worked perfectly. We had a hot meal without having to use anything "external".

Everything in this MRE was delicious except the pizza. It smelled a little off and didn't taste very good. If you're wanting this specifically to try an MRE Pizza, there are civilian MRE Pizzas that are exactly the same (just the pizza). I found Walmart's outdoor survival section had OMeals brand pizzas with flameless ration heaters. They looked identical to the ones in this MRE, but are fresh and smelled good vs smelling almost rancid in this MRE. Just search online for OMeals MRE Pizza and you'll find their site or maybe a link to one in Walmart. If the pizza is all you want to try, then try that. Everything else in this MRE was delicious. Especially the cookie (Chocolate Chip or Oatmeal).

I’d been seeing this on YouTube for many, many years. It highly exceeded my expectations on how delicious every single thing inside was. I already knew every version of the cheese spread is excellent as I’ve been eating it for years. Highly, highly recommend! I will definitely be ordering this again and probably again after that! I heated the pizza in the microwave for about 45 seconds. Same with the apple slices. I’ve had bad experiences with the ration heaters so I didn’t even try. Microwave works just fine!

This was my first time trying an MRE, so I didn't know what to expect from it. The beat part by far was the crackers and cheese. The crackers tasted like a normal what thin, and the cheese was pretty good too. The pizza was ok, not much better than a microwave pizza. The cookie was nothing special. The chocolate drink and cobbler had this weird taste that I did not enjoy to eat. Overall, this is a 6/10 meal.

Brings back memories.

The heater bag was ripped so I couldn’t heat the pizza up, the protein shake was horrible, the only good things were the Cobbler and the oatmeal cookie. So I wasted $20, not happy.

My package was packaged on the 153rd day of 2022 which would put it about 2 years old. It might be the luck of the draw but I had a package that seemed well kept before being resold. The pizza of you get one that isn't bad is actually kind of like a gourmet Lunchables for adults.
