Ash Plate Bushbox Ultralight

It's stainless steel, fits the stove, and I got it cheaper than having to fabricate just one of these. It would be cheaper if I was a manufacturer of excellent ultralight weight camping stoves to produce it in bulk and sell it for more reasonable prices -or actually include this necessary portion of the stove with the stove! Imagine all the costs of customs, shipping individually, packaging for a paper thin piece of metal... seems damn silly it wasn't with the rest of the stove. Makes a fantastic $35 stove that costs $45 a decent $57 stove. Had I known this stove was more like a $60 stove I may have considered other options that are actually similarly priced -but I am otherwise happy with the stove even piecemeal. It's a good design and still worth it when they jacked the price $10. It's a good design and still a fair value when they pretty much trick you and make you pay extra for relevant parts. left a star off, because it's still a trick, because more trees are chopped down to make boxes, more plastic fills the land and oceans to tape the packages, and more fuel is burned lugging tiny bits of ultralight stoves around piecemeal, oh, and charging $12 for a 3" diameter paper thin piece of steel.

I've used it, but as of yet the only purpose I've seen that it really serves is to slow down the rate of burn if you wish to, but once the ash tray has filled up, you're done until you can dump it out vs. not having it in and just keep burning. Embers can still fall out through the three corners it doesn't reach into once assembled.

Works great for solid fuels too! You can use the supplied plates for solid fuels but the fact that they are milled out with holes feeds more oxygen to the solid fuel and it burns out much faster. Using this plate/tray with solid fuels ie: gel esbit hexamine or trioxane the solid base closes off o2 from the underside of the fuel allowing a longer hotter and more efficient burn.

It's just a piece of metal but it's what I needed to complete the versatility of my Bushbox stove. However I do think the stove should have come with this in the first place.

The base plate is useful for using fuel tablets as well as the intended / stated use. Very good service. Very prompt.

Adding the ash tray to the Ultralight stove makes this a very useful hobo stove.It works so well with just wood as fuel, I have not used anything else.Highly recommend.
