great for Fluval Edge
I use this small magnet to clean the top & sides of my 6g Fluval Edge aquarium.CONSTRUCTION: this set consists of two magnets encased in plastic. The "outside" magnet has a felt surface to avoid scratching your aquarium. The "inside" magnet cleaning material is the "hook" half of a hook+loop (aka velcro) fastener.USE: the Fluval Edge aquarium has a built-on glass roof, and access is through a 5x7" porthole on the top. The inside magnet skips a little on my aquarium glass but cleans green filament algae off my glass easily.PROS: the FLOATING feature is awesome, makes it easy to retrieve the magnet without reaching into the water.CLEANS AROUND CORNERS - The magnet is strong enough that the "inside" magnet just jumps from one wall to the other when you go around corners. very cool and functional.CONS: as with all magnets I've used, the scraped off algae ends up floating away into the tank and getting hung up on my plants. par for the course...BULKY inside magnet housing. A lower-profile magnet would be better for me. The Mag Float is hard to maneuver around my driftwood and plants because it sticks out into the aquarium.OVERALL: cleans well, easy to use on my hard-to-clean and cramped 6gal aquarium.

Works well and easier than other methods
Works quite well in cleaning the glass. This is two plastic pieces with a magnetic attraction between them. You put one on the outside of the glass and the other on the inside. Then you use the outside piece to move the inside one up and down the glass, knocking off the algae as you go. You can really use either piece on either side of the glass. One piece of the two magnetic pieces is like the hook side of Velcro. The other is like a soft fabric. The hook side does a little better at digging through crusted on stuff, but the soft side does a little better at knocking off the fine stuff. Either way, this tool works well and is so much better than a pad on a stick or sticking your arm in the tank.

Great way to clean glass on a 30 gallon or less tank!
I wasn't sure what size mag-float to get for my 29 gallon Biocube, and I ended up deciding on this small version, mainly because it was cheaper. In summary, I love this thing! I still have to get my hands into the tank once a week to clean the rounded corners, but I knew that when I purchased the mag-float, so it's not really a complaint, just something to note. For cleaning algae off glass, it works really well, and even though it's small in size, definitely does the trick for my 29 gallon tank. If you have larger tank I would recommend one of the larger versions, but this definitely gets the job done and is a very reasonable price, especially compared to retail stores! Highly recommended!

Dope!
Well I have a 15 gallon column tank so it's not too big so I went ahead and ordered the small version of the mag-float and I'm glad I did. The product it self is relatively small and compact so it's easy to hide from view and honestly it looks pretty good on the side of my tank. When I first got my tank I didn't notice it had a bunch of silicone stains from when they assembled so I had to manually remove them my self. After removing the silicone stains I left behind a lot of residue and water marks on the tank and the Mag-Float easily got rid of them. I thought the Mag-Float was only for algae but it also gets rid of dried up water marks which I find very useful because I like my tanks to look crystal clear. I would definitely recommend this product it's a great little tool to have in your arsenal. At first I was scared to use it because of all the reviews I read about stuff getting stuck in the between the magnets but if you're careful everything will be fine. You don't even have to be that gentle with it just move it around firmly but just make sure you don't cause too much movement in your tank. The floating mechanism for this product works really well and getting around the corners is truly a breeze. I've been careful to not pass it by the silicone or too close to the gravel just in case because it is pretty strong. I'm glad I purchased this item and I hope it last me for a while before having to replace it. I don't know if I'm not looking in the right place but I can't seem to find any small replacement pads for my Mag-Float so I hope this one doesn't loose it's roughness anytime soon.

Greater Product for Cleaning Aquarium Glass
The thing was very easy to use. It does not do coraline algae. However, in terms of cleaning my 34 gallon cube, it does a great job, and I don't have to displace and slash water with my arm in the tank. It is necessary to have the tank full to within 1/2 inch for the overflow to work properly. I can clean the little bit of crusty coraline algae when I do my water changes. I would not recommend leaving in the tank between cleanings, all sorts of stuff could clog it. Instead, rinse it with plan tap eater, and clean with a soft brush, and let it dry out.

Worked suprisingly well
This actually worked way better than I thought it was going to I thought I was going to need some kind of cleaner as I had a decent algae bloom on my fishtank walls but literally i put this in and withing seconds it worked. It brushed it all off, then I did a water change just to make sure I got it all out. Easy to use, and seen a debate amongst others, I chose to keep mine in the tank.
