Yellowcard - Beyond Ocean Avenue Live At The Electric Factory [DVD]

I had this DVD a long time ago when I was 13 or 14 but I lost it...come around to almost 20, I'm missing it. I found this from a used vendor for 99 cents, and I am impressed. The DVD consists of a set by the band at the Electric Factory in Philly. They play Ocean Avenue in its entirety (maybe with the exception of one or two tunes) and play some old songs, such as "Powder" "Avondale" "AWOL" and a couple more. The DVD also has a small "tour" documentary showing the everyday life of the band. Short but entertaining nonetheless. There are also a few easter eggs hidden on the disc as well, all just being acoustic sessions of a few "Ocean Avenue" songs. The disc has been out for a long time, but whether you are a long-lived Yellowcard fan, or just have recently found them, this is a must-have!

I'm a big fan of Yellowcard, I first heard of them back in 2007. I was hesitant on getting this dvd because I've seen some clips on YouTube and some stuff was kinda sloppy. But when I saw this "used-like new still sealed" for nearly $3 I went ahead and got it because of the cheap price. I like it because it's Yellowcard but the performance is sloppy, LP is a great drummer...here I don't know what was going on but you can notice the tempo change A LOT. Some songs start fast then slow second time around, some are too fast and well it's not stable tempo wise and this bothers me a lot, I'm guessing most dont notice cause their not musicians or whatever. What saves this dvd is the documentary and bonus material, thats the good stuff in this dvd!!! I also just got it to have it in my YC collection haha. I am hoping that they do a new dvd soon, that would be awesome and it would be so much better performance wise because they are much more experienced now!

Whether already a fan or a curious listener looking for something new, Beyond Ocean Avenue proves Yellowcard to be much deserving of their fanatical following. This DVD comes with most of the standards of the format, including a behind the scenes documentary, a bonus feature of their Sessions@AOL acoustic show, and a full length concert.But what sets Beyond Ocean Avenue apart from every other rock show presentation is the quality of its content. The documentary not only takes the viewer into the lives of the Warped tour generation band, but introduces the personalities of its members. As with most, the token group interviews show the band looking bored and disinterested and do not teach the long-time Yellowcard fan anything new, but are insightful to new recruits who are looking to learn the basics. The highlights are the candid scenes where the band appears much more relaxed and makes situation after situation both hilarious and captivating.Unlike many rock DVDs, which put more effort into the rockumentary than the concert segments, the real gem of Beyond Ocean Avenue is the live show. If Yellowcard's albums had not been proof enough, watching Key and his contemporaries play for an intense Philadelphia crowd definitely confirms their musicianship. The power of "Believe," the opening track, is undeniable, and just short of its glory are "October Nights" and "Twentythree." But while the audience visibly connects the most with the bigger radio hits, the standout tracks are "Empty Apartment" and "Way Away," which showcase the softer and harder side of Yellowcard respectively.The strongest point of Beyond Ocean Avenue is the bridge of the latter, "Way Away," in which Key masterfully echoes what should be the band's motto: "Letting out the noise inside of me..." What a beautiful noise it is.

This is deffinately a must have for all Yellowcard fans, Weather you've been with them trough it all or just started listening you will greatly appriciate this DVD. The live concert is amazing (wish i could have been there). I Found the little documentary to be very entertaing as well. There are also 5 (that i know of) bonus features on this DVD of the sessions @ aol, including acoustic versions of "View From Heaven", "Empy Apartment", "Ocean Avenue", and "Only One". the last feature is a short question/answer with 2 of the band members. I highly recomend this DVD to EVERYONE!

Last time Yellowcard toured Australia, there had been an incident causing underage shows to be cancelled... I unfortunately missed out on seeing one of my favourite bands play live! A couple of months ago magazines like Blunt and Beat were advertising the new Yellowcard DVD to be released soon! The day it came out I rushed to JB Hi-Fi on my lunch break and bought the DVD. I have been playing it non-stop. I cannot speak highly enough of it. It is perfect. I give it an 11 out of 10... a superb DVD by an excellent band who work so well together... they fit together like a jigsaw puzzle... not only on stage, but as friends, and family... you will notice this when you watch the documentry featured on the DVD. Very disappointed I missed out on personally standing in the crowd, but far from disappointed in the quality of the performances on "Beyond Ocean Avenue".

"Beyond Ocean Avenue: Live At The Electric Factory" is an awesome DVD! Yellowcard puts on an energetic show like always; this is the closest you can get to seeing them perform live and in person. The list of songs they chose is fantastic because they play the old and new, from 'Underdog EP', 'One For The Kids', and 'Ocean Avenue.' If you're a long time and/or dedicated fan, you'll definitely love Yellowcard's first ever DVD. The documentary part is hilarious. I've already watched it multiple times and still am not tired of watching it. This is also a great oppurtunity for new fans to learn more about the band as people and as musicians, especially if you haven't seen them live yet. This is definitely a must have for ANY Yellowcard fan, and a great stocking stuffer. =P

This Dvd has stuff for the biggest YC fan or just the ones who like oldies, You get both. Yellowcard is a really energetic and an amazing band. They performed they're songs excellently.(16 great tracks) The Dvd offers a documentary, which is cool because I found out some new stuff about them even though I've known this band for 3 LONG years....... Get it you will not be disappointed.

Simply an amazing live performance. They play many songs off their brilliant new album ocean avenue but they also play 5 songs of their old albums underdog and one for the kids, these two albums are defiantly worth having a listen to. This DVD also includes the "Beyond Ocean Avenue" documentary, which chronicles the band's rise from indie-label ranks to the Main Stage at Warped Tour. You get a behind the scenes look of Yellowcard's life on the road ranging from losing electric violins, meeting unsuspecting fans and getting spur-of-the-moment tattoos!I have to say it again simply brilliant.

Nachdem ich sehnlichst auf die Veröffentlichung in Deutschland gewartet hatte(in den USA erschien die DVD etwas früher), habe ich sie mir am ersten Tag gleich zweimal angeschaut. Ich sage nur, Yellowcard rocks!!!Die CD enthällt fast alle Hits der Band und es werden sowohl alte als auch neue Songs zum Besten gegeben. Als Bonus gibts eine Akustikversion des Songs "View From Heaven" (im Bonusbereich auf die Schwalbe klicken)und "Behind The Scene" Material von ihrer Tour.Die Atmosphäre des Gigs kommt wirklich gut rüber und man möchte am liebsten gleich mitrocken.Anzurechnen ist der Band außerdem, dass nichts nachvertont wurde. So merkt man doch, dass gegen Ende des Konzertes die Kräfte des Sängers Ryan Key etwas schwinden und er einige Töne nicht ganz gerade singt.Einziger Wehmutstropfen ist der nicht umbedingt als perfekt zu bezeichnende Sound, wirkt er doch Stellenweise etwas dünn(wenig Bass) und undurchsichtig. Am Bild gibt es jedoch nichts auszusetzen.Alles in allem gebe ich jedoch trotzdem 5 Sterne, da diese Band den Zuschauer mit ihren Liedern und ihrer Bühnenshow einfach gefangen nimmt und die Emotionen in den Songs wirklich rüberkommen.Ich hoffe, dass Yellowcard auch bald in Deutschland an ihre Erfolge in den USA anknüpfen können, verdient hätten sie es.Meinerseits also eine dicke Empfehlung.

Not bad for a cheapy music dvd. You may have heard yellowcard from the burnout games or the teenage dirtbag albums. Good punk pop rock with a bit of electric violin thrown in for randomness. The band is lively on stage, at one point running around after each other. The audience are spot on and split down the middle for a less metal wall of death. Has both ocean avenue and breathing, tracks i love. If you like sum 41 green day blink 182 etc then give this a go.Only downer is they've probably had loads more tracks since this was released, and its not the longest dvd, it makes it past a full hour but not much more.

Ich habe mir die dvd heute angesehen und muß sagen ich hab das bekommen was ich mir erhofft habe ein ziemlich geiles konzert von einer guten punk band. Es sind gemischte lieder sowohl vom neuen als auch vom alten album und der sänger versteht es das publikum für sich zu gewinnen.Also mir hat es alles in allem sehr gut gefallen der einzige makel ist das das konzert nur ca 60min geht was sehr schade ist daher nur 4 Sterne.Das Bonusmaterial ist jedoch auch gut gelungen die backstage berichte.
