Why did you pick this product vs others?:Egyptian Botarga is the best in the world.

This was the worst product I've ever got. its junk, Short in weight less than 74 grams with the plastic. Look at the color it's old and a very bad quality, I used to order directly from Egypt the best quality and much cheaper, I will never order from you again. Even if you pay me I will never ask for it. You eat it. You didn't even give me a refund for this Junk you sent me. If you don't send me a refund and compensation of one dozen of the best quality Bottarga, I will never order from Amazon again.

I purchased mine in March 2020, and by mid-April it was used up. Some reviews here cited mold and other issues. I experienced none of those, but the product may be sourced by different vendors, which would account for the inconsistency. I count myself as lucky.For me this is absolutely perfect as a substitute for parmigiano reggiano grated over spaghetti. A little olive oil, perhaps some papers and this grated over a pasta it to me pure heaven.Note the time frame that I mentioned: I know for a fact that this will keep at least a month if stored in a refrigerator in a sealed plastic container. Possibly longer. At any rate, do heed the negative reviews because there were enough of them to indicate there are quality issues with some shipments. I reduced my risk by ordering mine to be delivered by Prime, which meant that I could easily return it for a refund. I was more than pleased with the package I received and it's about time to order another!

Quality was not fine as expected : it was dry, with large grains.

I am Taiwanese. I am very fond of Roe. Since kids. Party first dish food. It is in my blood that I have to pick some from duty free Shop at airport every time I back to USA. Said past 30 yrs. first time I try this in USA thanks to Amazon. Size is little smaller. But won’t stop me buying again on special occasion. I highly recommend this Italia Roe. Or whatever they call. But put on top of spaghetti kind of waste this good great Roe. U should have with white carrot, bring up all roe favor. Priceless & homesick favor food . Kuo.

My first time eating bottarga. It seemed to be good quality and had good concentrated flavor. The dog really liked it too. Did seem a little pricey at $25 however.

This looked nothing like the color in the picture. The product was solid black all the way through and the outside skin had what looked like a dusting of powdered mold. I normally enjoy bottarga and caviar products, so I tried to eat a piece anyway- the flavor was absolutely terrible and I had to throw it away. I've never had bottarga that looked black like this, I think this one may have been rotten.
