Catalina Pony Bottle Tanks, Yellow with Pro Valve

Well constructed tank with a nice finish and a quality valve. What more could you ask for. This is the 13 cuft pony bottle and I plan to use this one for emergency tire inflation and off/on the road puncture repair. My original tank from Catalina has already passed 3 hydro tests and is still fine with only inspections and o ring replacement 17 years later.

I bought this to use as a refill bottle for an air rifle. My local scuba shop was having trouble getting tanks in, so I ordered this from Amazon. Came really quick. Works well and fits the Benjamin scuba adapter. (Unfortunately the hose on the Benjamin adapter blew apart at 2800 psi, but that's another review).

What can I say, Catalina is the most popular brand of tank and they live up to the reputation. They come with a Sherwood K valve that has a Yoke and DIN connection. Just use an Allen Key to remove the insert and it's ready for a DIN Regulator. If your a neatness freak beware because when they are shipped they will arrive with scratches in the paint. The boxes they arrive in are pretty flimsy so scratches do occur. The only way to get a scratch free tank is to buy it at a store. Honestly it makes no differences since after two dives the tank is going to be scratched anyway.

Kind of expensive, but good bottles. I bought the 19cf to use for a bailout bottle. It is taller than I thought it would be. Should have gotten the 13 I guess.

Nice tank, but the hydro runs out in a little over a year. What a waste of money now that I'm going to have to get it re hydro'd so soon.

Excellent product and purchase! Have used on multiple dives all over the world. Would never dive without it while diving deeper than 50ft. Only time I don't use it is when I can't take it with me like with travel restrictions. Just make sure you have a good solid pony bottle mount and dedicated regulator setup.

Good rack. Everything looks okay with it. However the manufacture date is February 2021. These are supposed to be tested every 5 or 6 years so I just lost almost a year and half on the file before I have to have it tested. Aggravating.
