This is the fourth set of rings I have purchased and the third that was wood - and the least expensive. Overall a good value, though the wood was a bit rougher than other two and it seems a bit harder - not taking the chalk as well as others have. That said, I got these for a warm-up movement, so good traction isn't as critical for what I got them for. If you are intending more full body weight movements, I might step up a bit in expense. If it's your first set and you just want to explore rings, this is a good set for that.

It' been about 50 years since I last grabbed a set of rings. Now, my back acts up on occasion, and when it does, it's all I can do to get up out of bed. I hung one ring over my bed, hoping that the next time my back misbehaves it won't be such an ordeal to get up. I plan on hanging the other one over my bath-tub. It would be somewhat ironic if I fell and bonked my bean while mounting it. Rings are smooth, unvarnished laminated wood. I counted the plies three times and got 21 once and 22 twice, so I guess that averages out to 21 2/3 (huh?). They're not going to break.

These are a great cost effective way to get into gymnastic rings training. Such a simple idea, you really can't go wrong with these. Out of the box they felt a little rough so I just gave them a few passes with sandpaper and it was all good. Get some inexpensive 1" x 15' cam buckle straps (I use NRS straps, they're cheap and strong) and you're good to go! I spent probably $40 for the straps and rings together. I got the 1.1" rings and couldn't be happier. Don't leave them outside.

Very happy with this purchase. We just needed the rings and all the other offers included the straps as well, which we didn't need, nor did we want to pay for. The rings are a little thinner than I thought, but of a high quality. Ideal for my son's Ninja gym.

Excellent quality rings. I am 5 foot 6 inches needed an option for 1.1 rings rather than the larger ones because I have small hands. Was finally able to do my first muscle up the day I got these. The color is just a bit darker than in the picture. Very satisfied.
