Update: You get what you pay for.
After leaving this review I was contacted by the seller about the issues with the type pad. They were very understanding of my frustration and concerns. They got me taken care of in a timely manner, and I do commend them for that.I received this type pad for my Surface Pro 4 on October 4. The only reason I needed to replace the original type pad was because the fabric started to separate after years and years of use; there were no other issues with the original touchpad.Pros: the type pad is very responsive, as well as the mousepad. It performed even better than the original keyboard from my surface.Cons: per other reviews on this product, the type pad WILL QUIT OPERATING after about a month of use. Specifically this one quit 44 days after receiving it. While it was connected to my computer the day it was received, use was light, and I baby all tech products. After each use I would turn it off along with the computer. It should also be noted that there seems to be no way to contact the seller, and Amazon’s bot service left me so aggravated that I did not opt to speak to a human representative.

Five Months, then Kaput.
Initially, this keyboard worked alright. The track pad was insanely sensitive, which made typing or moving my cursor without a secondary mouse open and close windows and tabs near constantly. But I figured that could be ignored for a working keyboard.Paid almost $50.00, and it worked for almost 5 months before it became entirely unresponsive. Swapping chargers, resetting Bluetooth connections, reinstalling the keyboard, restarting the surface pro, nothing has made it work.So for this item, you're looking at paying ten bucks a month to use it. With the returns and refunds only lasting 30 days when most reviews say it collapses in on itself in 3-5 months was an extra kick in the teeth, now that I'm $50 in the hole and can't even replace the product or refund to out towards something that works.I would not recommend buying this product if you plan to use your pro for more than a few months.

It's better than the original!
I was kind of skeptical about this purchase but I really needed a new keyboard because the original one had some keys that stopped working and I just couldn't keep trying to get around it with the screen keyboard which is fine but I like using the keyboard a lot better. So it arrived and I tried it out and boy o'boy was I surprised I love this keyboard better than the original. I love that you can use it wirelessly, I love the way the keys feel under my fingertips, I really loved the price, the battery life is great, the fact you can use it in two positions while it's connected to the Surface and I know that it was made to fit my Surface but for some reason I thought what if it doesn't fit right to close it and protect my screen...... Well it does, all in all it was one of the best items I've ever bought from Amazon. So Thank you Amazon for all you do, making sure that you provide other options when you can't afford the name brand and even providing options that it perform better than the original. This keyboard is there bomb! Oh and I can't forget the maker FERRISA Wireless Thank you for making an outstanding product.

Works perfectly with the Surface Pro
Fits perfectly. I was surprised that it doesn't charge off the Surface battery. It needs to be plugged in to charge the keyboard battery. Fortunately the Surface power cord has a USB port to plug in the charger for the keyboard.

Carga
Lo incómodo es tener que cargarla y conectarla por usb pero pues es una buena opción de reemplazo temporal

Great Replacement for MS Surface Pro 4 keyboard
I recently bought a significantly discounted MS Surface Pro 4, knowing that the keyboard was dead. I wasn't too happy about spending almost 100 USD for a new keyboard when I found this one.The only thing that I would caution other purchasers, is the fact that it does not charge through the keyboard port like the default keyboard. Also, it does not shut the device off or become disabled if you want to leave the keyboard attached, while you use it as a tablet.

It’s a no - just save up and get the name brand
Battery life is amazing. I have yet to charge it and it’s been months of me using it for maybe 7-8 hours a week. The only thing that annoys me is that I have to turn it off and on multiple times to get it to connect to my surface. It’s annoying that it doesn’t stay connected or automatically connect. It makes it inconvenient when I am in a rush to get something done for work. Also, when I’m typing, if your hand barely brushes the mousepad it will move the cursor elsewhere on the page and mess up your paragraphs. I never had this problem with my OG surface keyboard that I got originally when I first got my surface. The keys don’t light up so if you’re on it at night with the lights off, you can’t see anything. If you don’t have the money to splurge on the legit Microsoft Surface brand keyboard, this is an okay alternative. But I wish I would’ve just paid another $75 or whatever it is to get the real one instead. The one mine originally came with, the real Microsoft brand one, automatically connected, lit up, was comfortable, and never needed to be charged. I only bought this keyboard bc after 5 years of use that one broke where the magnet is.All in all, just save up the extra money and get the real thing.

Excellent Alternative
We purchased this keyboard for a Surface Pro 3. The issue with the Surface Pro's type cover not working has been widely documented. Thus, we were left with no options but to purchase this unit. Although longevity remains to be seen since we've only had it for a week, function, connectivity and overall feel is excellent. Battery life is also great; we gave it a full charge after unboxing and it had to be recharged after 5 days of use. Typically 4 to 5 hours per day of non-stop work. A quick tip, instead of pushing the power button for 3 seconds to turn off, just hold the "alt" key and press the space bar to put it to sleep. It conserves battery even if you have the tablet on but don't need to use the keyboard. Repeat the same process to turn it back on... ours connect immediately.
