Warning Extremely Aggressive bit.
There should be an warning in the description telling you that this drill bit is to be used only for rough work with an extremely Heavy duty, LARGE slow turning (less than 350 RPM) Drill. Like an Milwaukee Electric Right Angle Drill in the low speed setting.I bought this hoping it was very sharp (it is not) and would make a clean hole in wood doors for the door knob (2-1/8") with my very powerful 18V Makita Drill on Low speed. I was gravely mistaken. This drill will rip your arm off and probably destroy your $500-$2000 door. The sharpening of his drill looks like the junk you used to get from stuff made in China 30 years ago. As with everything made in China today, if you spec junk you get junk. The center bore is so aggressive that it rips right into the wood. You can not be careful or go slow. Hit the switch and hold on!PS. If you are a cowboy, (fly by the seat of your pants), have the most powerful drill money can buy and need to make a lot of holes in rough framing this is the bit.

Irwin Industrial Tools 3046011 2-1/8-Inch 3-Cutter Self Feed Drill Bit
Bought this as a Warehouse Deal. Only noticeable reason for a discount was some ruffled packaging. Bit comes with a replacement center screw. Easy and quick drilling in 2x material. Better control than I expected. Did run into one nail that I might have been able to drill through with a little more effort, but decided not to risk it. The nail was reduced by half without damage to the bit, and after extracting the nail continued to drill without a problem. Cutting edges are pronounced enough that even if some damage had been realized it could have been remedied with an abrasive wheel on a Dremel. I don't think the cutting edges could be effectively sharpened using a file since the room available to run a file at the correct angle is limited. A little pricey for my budget, but this is for a DWV project where the time saved compared with using a regular plug hole cutter justified the expense. Will soon be looking for the next size up for my 2" pipe runs.

21/8 in drill bit
i bought a 2/1/8 in. to use to drill a rabbit to mount it on my lathe for turning.the only thing i had to do was remove the feed screw to let me feed it real slow into the wood. its a wonderful tool and i love it. i give it 5 stars and recomend it very highly

Really durable
Great built quality and that's why it needs some powerful tool. Cheap battery ones won't do the job well.

works super great
I've used this several times to drill DWV holes in 2x6 boards. It works great but you do need a corded drill. I overheated a battery on my cordless but it goes through like a hot knife through butter with a corded drill. Really pleased with this drill bit.

Great bits
I have used these speedbore bits on various diameters and they are great products. On the large dia bores, make sure you have a drill with amps needed to torque these bits through. I had to rent one for this bit (through oak).
