The Best Stuff Under $200
'Cedar and Clarysage' by St. James of London is probably my all-time favorite scent. It's definitely my favorite everyday cologne, and I like it much more than their black pepper fragrance. It's interesting in that it goes on initially kind of smelling like mosquito repellent, but then quickly mellows out into about the best thing to ever grace your nose. I work with several attractive women and more than one of them has nuzzled up to me while wearing this and told me how great I smell. I have a personal theory about fragrances, which is that they are really not so much about making you smell better; rather, they are intended to invoke thoughts and memories of captivating contexts where you are then placed at their center. Kind of like the idea that nearly every man looks more attractive sitting behind the wheel of a $500k Ferrari. This scent does the trick. It invokes thoughts of beautiful, old universities with meticulous blossoming gardens. Or perhaps a stroll up a romantic mountain path through a pristine forest and then a glass of wine beside the fire. It has an air of manliness and sophistication that isn't heavy-handed, but more subtle and lively. Nice, understated, masculine, potent for sure, but not at all obnoxious. Good for both formal and casual wear.

Among the best scents I have used
I sprayed this on and was instantly whisked away from coastal Virginia to the Oregon Desert, a place I'd visited 21 years ago. I guess that's what colognes and perfumes do - invoke our senses and even memories, they are not just about smelling good. This is a very clean, distinct, and manly scent... hard to describe. I feel like a gentleman from the 1950s - clean, upright, and sure about things to come! The only thing I wish is that it would last longer, BUT that may also be my own perception. Often people mention my cologne long after I am no longer aware of the scent still being present. I bought this on a whim and am so glad I did... I'll be trying out another scent from them in the future.

Great Present
I bought this cologne for my boyfriend's birthday. He had always said he wanted a cologne that smelled like cedar but could never seem to find one. I got this for him after reading reviews that the cedar wood had a nice scent. I was a little worried because some of the reviews only mentioned older men (my boyfriend just turned 21). However, i ordered this anyway. Boyfriend really liked it! said the cedar was a great authentic scent. I liked the packaging well enough and I think the size is good enough for the price paid. I think by bf smells great and he seemed really happy. I only wish the smell lasted a bit longer -- wears off after a couple hours

Crisp, clean and balanced fragrance!
Not having any experience with the St James of London products I was cautiously optimistic after reading the many positive reviews. I'm happy to say that I am in full agreement with them. The fragrance is well balanced, earthy green with Clary Sage, a soft but not too sweet floral background with peppery notes and an almost citrus clearness.Hands down this is my favorite cologne. I plan to wear it outdoors, in the office, playing sports or going out. My wife loves it and says it is a great manly smell that is not too floral or sickly sweet. Her description is: clean, outdoorsy and crisp.I couldn't be more pleased! It does fade a bit after 4-6hrs, depending on your activity, but most will. I don't mind that either. A little goes a long way and offers a nice lingering essence.

Buy something else. There are better scents for cheaper.
This smells good if you can get it on. Whenever I tried to push the spray top, it didn't really work. On the sixth try it would spray out and leave sort of foam on my wrist which would go away after a few seconds. The bottle isn't high quality. Plastic top. Just be warned the bottle changes the longevity (in any cologne). But for 36 bucks that doesn't really matter. I have a few colognes, and I took this one on a trip where it got into the 90s. Like any cologne, the smell and longevity was ruined by the heat, but before that I could get an average 3.5 hours of where I could smell it with two to three squirts on. I never got any "wow you smell nice" like I get with my Tom Ford (highly recommend). This cologne just didn't go anywhere. Sure I could smell it on my wrists, but it didn't emit that well. I recommend you get classic Nautica (any store for less than $20) or if you can afford it Tom Ford ombre leather.

Very Weak Frangrance
Very weak fragrance! I would not purchase. I was hoping for a good cedarwood smell. I am old school with a 2 spray max belief. This stuff is barely effective with 4 or 5 sprays. Looking for another brand. This is a hand me down
