Tasty! Although when I bought them I thought I was buying filled candy but unlike these anyway! That was a me problem. I also appreciate the light dusting of powdered sugar to keep them from Sri min to each other.

Such a unique flavor, people are always taken back when they try these for the first time. I enjoy keeping these around. These are a hard candy about the size of a standard lemon drop, they are hard but not so hard you can't bite through them. A good all around candy.

This candy is an acquired taste. I have been enjoying them for over 60 years. This is a very old fashioned delight. Not everyone likes them, so I get to have my own personal stash. These are the best you can get.

I've been ordering these Claeys hard candies for a long time now, and have never had any problems with taste, staleness, or texture problems. The size is nice because each one is only about 20 calories, and because they're dusted, they aren't at all sticky. The only problem I have is when I'm done with one, I often want another. Hard to go wrong with this brand because the flavors are good and not at all weak. My only problem has sometimes been tracking down resupplies of my favorite flavors. The cinnamon ones, by the way, do have a little heat to them, so they might not appeal to everybody. For me, that's a feature.

I've been craving some anise candy. This tastes great but I am disappointed that it has Red 40 coloring added. Red 40 is so bad for you and what's the need to make the candy red? As of June 22, 2025, Red 40 is banned in the United States. It will be interesting to see what they use next if they think this candy needs to be red. I'm going to try the Sperlari brand next because it doesn't have any food coloring additives.

These glorious gems of yesteryear took me back to a forgotten time and place! A place I had only seen in the movies, a place I dreamed of. Pop one of these in your mouth and suddenly feel as if you too are in the 90s Sci-Fi thriller Sliders! The texture of the “sanding” on the outside giving sensation to the lost art of Candy Making. I laughed and frolicked with squirrels as I watched the Model-Ts drive by. There was no such thing as a stranger in the quaint little town these calgon-esque little gems wisked me away to! These bbies are drenched with raspberry goodness. I stood outside the Five and Dime whilest I finished my hard candy goodness, sad to see this era fading before my own eyes, as the candy slowly dwindled in size until at last, it was small enough that I couldn’t resist that last fatal crunch on it.. slowly little Jimmy and little Emma playing Kick the Can vanished from before my face.. What are you waiting for? Your adventure awaits!

I grew up enjoying anise. My Italian heritage meant that at Christmas time I would enjoy many anise flavored treats. One of these treats was anise candy. Claey's anise drops have an authentic anise flavor that brings me back to my youth. There are still some holiday treats that have anise in them but the anise flavor often seems muted. The anise flavor in this candy is near perfect. I taste anise when I treat myself to a drop. I wish the anise flavor was a tiny bit stronger but it is better than anything I have recently tried. The only real problem with this anise candy is that it is hard to limit myself to a few.

All I need to say is this is my go to since i was a child. My grandmother always had this in her apron. I can see her now reaching into her pocket to give me one first wiping off any lint that was present. I love these candies, notably for their flavor, but also the memories they hold. I'm 77 and will continue to order.
