I'm a Captain on a ocean going tug been working on boats for 32 yrs now and have had several knives with a marlin spike and hand
Well it's taken me a while to wright a review on this knife but I won't wright a review on an unproven product so it's about a year now that I have been using this knife on a daily basis. I'm a Captain on a ocean going tug been working on boats for 32 yrs now and have had several knives with a marlin spike and hands down this is the best knife I have owned, the combination of the serrated blade is great for cutting rope and the straight part for everything else. The locks on the blade and spike are strong and well made, I even bought the previous version of this knife, but that knife was junk I broke the lock on the marlin spike the first week I had it, it wasn't made with enough meat it was cheaply made and it's best use would be best used opening letters. Now this version has been completely redesigned and is a real seamen's knife good job on the redesign . I would highly recommended this knife to anyone who wants a very good and versatile tool even if you not a mariner . Hope this help your decision but you can't go wrong buying this knife.

Beautiful and functional Knife. Super high quality.
I love this knife. It gorgeous. LOL. But more importantly it the highest quality pocket knife I own. Everything is solid. The blade spine is thick. It opens one hand and closes one hand, both blade and marlin spike. The grip feels wonderful in your hand, very secure and very comfortable. And it does have a lanyard ring which is essential for sailors who don't want to loose it. Very nicely done!I love the fact that it has the serrated part of the blade near the hilt and the regular edge near the tip. My Victorinox does this the opposite way. Some may prefer that but I is the tip for finer cutting and if I need to "saw" thru heavy line with the serrated blade I tend to do that at the hilt. And FYI. I usually want to hone the factory edge a little bit when I first get any knife. I just like that extra sharpness. But no need to do that with this knife. I comes out of the box razor sharp. I don't want to touch that factory edge. It's outstandingly sharp as is.

Stunned at the Quality
I was not expecting the exceptionally high quality of this knife. This is an heirloom piece

Awesome Knife.....
Purchased as a gift for my husband, he was totally surprised at the quality and design of the knife. It is just the right weight and fits a large hand with great ease. He was especially surprised that I had done research on this type of knife and chose the perfect one. We would recommend this knife whether you are a "ole salt" sailing your rig or a hunter going to your favorite duck blind or deer stand.

Great Knife
Says "Tested at sea" but struggles with the high salt content of the Arabian Gulf. Needs regular cleaning to stay rust free. Otherwise a great tool!

Not really impressed with the delivered sharpness. Also, ...
Not really impressed with the delivered sharpness. Also, Lanyard loop fell off and is lost after the first week of possession. Luckily it wasn't while I was counting on a lanyard to keep from dropping the knife in the water.

Terrific knife, but like others have indicated
Terrific knife, but like others have indicated, this is a rather substantial item! Much heavier than your usual folder...sharp blade and strong marlin spike!
