Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters Saga Omnibus Vol. 1 (Green Arrow by Mike Grell Omnibus)

I've been "in love" with Green Arrow for a very long time and this series is the best! So lovely to have all the issues collected in one place, even if I do have to work to find a way to read a 20 pound book. (No, it doesn't really weigh 20 pounds, just seems that way.)

At 1500 pages, this is an epic! collection. Beginning with the mature format Longbow Hunters that evolved Green Arrow into an urban hunter while staying true to roots, then 50 issues of the on-going comic. Grell is top of his form.

The seminal green arrow run in a huge volume. Good binding strong colors and a beautiful dust jacket

This is a very well put together compilation of the mini series and 50 issues of the monthly series but I have one complaint. It didn't include annuals 1-3 or secret origins 50 which gave us Black Canary origin after Crisis on Infinite Earths. We got Secret Origins 38 with Green Arrows origin though.

Mike Grell run on the Green Arrow is one of the finest in DC history. This is not the typical Oliver Queen with trick arrows and all, instead the writer put him in a more humane way with real life threats, and given him just a "Longbow"... ( U can guess it from the title) . The narrative moves at a fast pace with stories taking place in Seattle where Ollie is dealing with various villains and his own demons..

Great read, awesome collection for an awesome series of good story-telling. The collection is beautifully bonded in a hefty book. Perhaps this is one of them Collectors’ must haves.

Longbow Hunters is an amazing addition to Green Arrow mythos. I got it as a gift, and was very existed to read this massive beauty. However right on the arrow, the cover had a small sharp dent in it, which had also dented the hardcover it self. Tho the replacement process was very fast and straight forward, it was still kinda disappointing to have to wait another couple days.
