I'm installing a pumped shower and there wasn't enough head of water to siphon over the hot and cold feeds to the mixer valve. Solution? Use a small bilge pump! This Best Marine pump pulled the water through about 10m of 22mm pipework in just a few strokes with ease.

Great bit of kit. Bought this pump for Kayaking, however due to lockdown restrictions haven’t used it properly yet. Tested it on sink full of water and worked great. Very pleased.

On the third occasion that I used this pump the hose split. So if you want to use it more than three times, buy something else

Ich habe diese Handpumpe gekauft, um aus meiner Regentonne den Bodensatz an Wasser (ca. 5 bis 10 Liter) vor dem Winter herauszupumpen. Die Pumpe funktionierte leider nur schlecht und es hat ewig gedauert, 10 Liter Restwasser herauszupumpen. Kaum Fördermenge, etliche Leerhübe und die Anschlussschläuche waren blöd auf die Tüllen zu schieben. Es ist auch nur ein (1x) kurzer und fragil wirkendes Schläuchen dabei. Die Pumpe taugt leider überhaupt nicht!! Teurer Fehlkauf! Für den Einsatz in einem Kajak hätte ich gigantische Bedenken bei so einer schlechten Pumpleistung ...

After receiving this bilge pump, I did several test to satisfy myself that it would work. If I had to use it during an emergency. To my satisfaction, it did work very well at transferring water from point “A” to point “B”. I like that the extension hose can be use at either end of the pump. The plunger was a little stiff at the beginning, but a small amount of light lubricant and some use made it very smooth. Should work great to remove unwanted water from my kayak.

I have been oh so fortunate not to have flooded my kayak as of yet, so I haven’t really used it much. But I did test it several times in a bucket of water and boy did it pump water quick! Sure it’s a manual pump so that can get tiring, but it works well and it isn’t build cheaply like some other pumps I’ve seen. It comes with an adapter hose if you want to pump out the water a bit further, other wise just start pumping!

You need the tube to make sure you eject water overboard when pumping. The tube might also help getting water out of hard to reach places. For other similar pumps you have to buy the tube separately which might wind up being a PITA to get the proper fit. When attached to both inlet and outlet, the tube keeps junk out of the pump while in storage. Feels like a quality product and pumps well.
