SIZE DOES MATTER
Okay, so I am a filmmaker and shoot on a 4k camera setup. I shoot Cinema DNG files (raw) on my Sigma FP. It's a small camera and the last thing I want is a SSD taking up a lot of real estate. I did some digging and found the Sabrent Rocket Nano. Man, this thing blows away the Samsung T5 and all others. First off, its tiny!!It's all aluminum body is 2 3/4" X 1 2/16" X 1/2"!! Second it's a 2TB drive with sustained Read/Write speeds of around 900 MB/s! That is ridiculously fast compared to Samsung's 500MB/s, so I get no dropped frames or any other type of file corruption. Also, there is absolutely no formatting or setup with the Nano. I literally just plugged it in and shot. The 2TB nano shooting 4k Cinema DNG at 12bit gives me 1h50m record time. It also comes with a short (6 inch) USB C to USB C Thunderbolt 3 cable as well as a short (10 inch) USB A to USB C cable. The drive works on USB C or Thunderbolt 3 computers since it is backwards compatible. It comes in a cool aluminum case. This is a no brainer purchase. I know everyone uses the Samsung T5 or SanDisk or AngleBird and so did I. But this is smaller, faster and built extremely well. Now, if only SmallRig could design a clamp for it, all would be perfection.

Fast and affordable
I just received this today and threw 90GB at it and it reached 600MB/s copying from an internal 1TB NVMe drive in my Dell XPS 9570 USB C to USB C. To test, I used VM disks, RAW and TIFF along with some movie clips from my DSLR's just to see the speed. It's fast, but did not see the 1000MB/s others have stated in their reviews in real life usage. Typically, small files do not transfer very quick so large files are required to see the performance on any storage media. During the transfer, I noticed the small device was warm to the touch, but not hot.I'm willing to bet a benchmark would show the 1000MB/s performance, but that's unrealistic because large files are required to achieve and sustain that kind of speed.Build quality is typical of Sabrent, good solid build and quality for the price. My initial reaction is that it's good and I've always been a fan of Sabrent for the past 15 years or so.I was surprised that this order came directly from Sabrent and packaged in Sabrent bubble wrap. The tin storage enclosure is a surprise as well. The USB Type C to USB Type C isn't more than 8" long and the Type A to Type C included is the same length and both appear to be well built cables. The item title says USB 3.2, but the packaging says USB 3.1 and the markings on the package model number matches the description.

I liked it so much I purchased a second drive
These solid state drives are tiny but powerful. Fast data save and retrieval and can be plugged into both USB-C and USB-A access ports. It has a nice solid, high-quality feel to it. I purchased a small carrying case that can accommodate both drives.

not reliable; dead after a year; support lacking
In my original review, I thought the problem was related to using it with a Mac, but after doing more research online, there are many people reporting similar failures online that are not related to use with a Mac. Mine has been getting worse, it gets harder and harder to have it connect, after only one year old of moderate use.So, I explored the option of using the warranty. First of all, nowhere could I find the actual warranty published except for in the Product Q&A here on Amazon. It claims one year regular, five years with registration. Okay, so I went ahead and registered. Then, went to the support ticket page, and it has nowhere to file a ticket. It seems they don’t actually want to give support, which is the experience others have had with their devices. I have therefore revised my review down to one star. For how much I paid, I’d expect more than a one year lifespan, and I’d expect some support.——- Original review ————This would be a wonderful, compact, fast drive if it weren't for one major glitch: it simply doesn't work about half of the time when plugged into a modern mac (Macbookpro 16", Macos Catalina).Today is a case in point: I wanted to transfer a large Final Cut Pro X file from a NAS using this, because it would take an hour over wifi. I put it on the Rocket Nano, it took a few minutes to copy. Then I plugged it into the mac: zero, zilch, zip, nada. Re-plugged. Switched USB Cables. Nada.NOW, after taking the time to find my order so I could write a review, and finding the file to do a network copy, suddenly the drive mounts (after ~15 minutes of being plugged in).If you're trying to get work done using a Rocket Nano, forget it. It does this kind of nonsense too often. It becomes temporarily useless for some arbitrary amount of time, but if you wait long enough, it may eventually decide to mount. I don't know if it's doing an extensive fsck or some other process, or if it's just flakey, but I do not experience this with any other drives.I would have given this 4.5 stars otherwise; the only other negative is the heat. It does get very hot.Otherwise, it would be good. I get around 900MB/S copy speeds when it's cool (and mounted). It is very light and compact. It has never actually lost data (as far as I know). However, if half the time it won't mount when needed, it is 2 stars at best.I wish I could give it a better review, it would be perfect if it weren't for this highly annoying glitch.

Great size but GETS HOT which will hinder transfer speeds
Currently don't know where they are, but have had them for over a year and are great. When I first got them, heard they got hot. THEY DO. So... I bought 50mmx25mmx10mm heat sinks for them, it was a four pack and I have two drives. Put one on either side. AND PRESTO, can sustain the rated speeds and doesn't get hot. THOUGH... did hinder the portability of it by tripling its thickness, and also removed the ability to attach it to the back of my GPD Win Max devices. Overall, recommend.
