YOUCAT Confirmation Book Paperback – Student Edition, April 22, 2014

This is a concise little book that will make a great addition to the other materials I use for Confirmation prep. The lessons cover everything from does God really exist to confession and the what actually happens during the sacrament of confirmation. If you have seen any of the other YouCat books, the illustrations are the same with stick figures and not so many words on a page as to be intimidating to kids who may not be the best of readers. The situations that are used to explain faith concepts are interesting for the kids and most meet them where they are in their life. There are references to scripture in the margins and this is a great way to get kids familiar with the Bible and teach them how to find things in the Bible. This may sound as if the students in my class have never been catechized before, but once a week CCD even for eight years is not enough to make them comfortable with the Faith unless there is re-enforcement at home. This book is a great help to reach kids where they are.

YOUCAT itself is awesome but this has surpassed even it!!Should be a required "textbook" for all Confirmation prep classes.

This little book is a gem. I read it with my son as part of his Confirmation prep and I was extremely impressed with the content. Just like the YouCat, it presents the truths of the faith in a way that makes them accessible without watering them down. Unlike some other sacrament prep materials I have looked at, there isn't a sense of "dumbing down" concepts or talking down to students. I highly recommend it to anyone preparing for Confirmation, or to parishes looking for solid material to use as part of their sacrament prep programs.

This small is helpful to young people as they want to prepare themselves for Confirmation and know more about the Catholic faith...

I bought this book because my kids and I have read through the Youth Catechism (YOUCAT) and found it well written and insightful. My two oldest have both read YOUCAT Confirmation as prep for the Confirmation coming up next month. I looked at the book that the parish was using to prepare its Confirmation students and I felt this one was superior and went into more depth. Its been the unfortunate trend that after confirmation many parishes have no other formal catechizes for adults. I wanted my kids to at least have the experience of reading something on their own for their own edification.

Great gift for our confirmation candidates!!! Great buy for any Catholic youth!

As DRE I am very pleased with the YOUCAT Confirmation Student Book. It is very well put together and makes an easy transition to the Bible and the YOUCAT. Would highly recommend to any Confirmation program.
