Yes, they simply slide on or off.

Is this table child friendly

It has no sharp corners and is thick glass. But I wouldn't have it around with children as adults can be careless with it and I've had my adult son drop a glass heavy coaster on it . Didn't break but has left a small mark. Also in sunlight the glass has patterns impregnated in it . This I'm sure would annoy people. I think it's with the packaging as it came with wood planks you had to prise off.
