Dementia and other maladies of the brain are not solved by medication. The underlying causes need to be addressed. This book can provide the answers. Many are looking for a quick fix, but if don’t address the underlying problems you’re conditions will continue or get worse!

Phenomenal! Fantastic! Take control of your health now!
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It covers a completely natural therapeutic treatment plan for all types of neurological disease, not only Alzheimer's but also Parkinson's, Lou Gehrig's Disease, ALS, MS, etc ... even potentially autism. I've read a number of books on neurological conditions. For example ... "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Parkinson's." Besides the obvious mainstream claptrap, those books are useless. Those books cover about the same territory as the Mayo Clinic website and basically say, you can take these pharmaceutical drugs, there may (actually WILL) be these side effects, try to stay active, maybe do yoga for peace of mind. BS. Total BS. I bought this book b/c the forward was written by Dr. Russell Blaylock, MD, a neurosurgeon who is now a courageous and outspoken advocate of NUTRITION as the basis of health and healing and a staunch opponent of the mainstream big medicine approach of prescribing TOXIC (yes, all pharmaceuticals are toxic) drugs as the primary means of treatment of degenerative and chronic health conditions ... which needless to say DOES NOT HEAL but merely temporarily ameliorates symptoms (while typically actually worsening health over the long run). These statements are true. If you don't believe it, do your own research with an open mind and convince yourself. Anyone who listens to their doctor WITHOUT INDEPENDENT VERIFICATION of the facts is taking a real risk with their health.Now, putting my diatribe aside, about the book ... I learned a huge amount from the book. It is very comprehensive as to all the various assaults on the brain and why various foods and environmental influences are bad for the brain. It will make you understand why the modern industrialized food and medicine industry will debilitate you. There are no cliches or platitudes here. The scientific and medical evidence is clearly laid out in an easy to read and understandable manner. The book gives you real hope too. The therapy plan is soundly based on the understanding of the causes of the condition. Main treatment modality is coconut oil, along with a low carb diet and high antioxidant intake. There is real scientific reasons why coconut oil is the primary treatment modality, but you should read the book yourself to understand why. It's all well laid out. The book answered a lot of questions I had about various health matters, as there is a lot of conflicting information out there. B/c of the clear explanations as to the WHY for each of his recommendations, I felt confidence in making certain decisions in implementing various therapeutic strategies for various family members that I was hesitating on before. This book is a great resource for taking health back into your own hands. Even if you don't have a neurological condition now, this is a great health resource. Recommended enthusiastically!

Serious about your brain? Vital information!
I am 67 years old and just now discovering that there is much nutritional hype and misinformation about nutrition that is supported by the internet, media, and sadly, our health provisional system. Admittedly, I have not completed this book but what I have learned so far is fascinating. For instance, did you know that cholesterol is actually good for your brain (and every cell in your body); necessary for good brain health? That cholesterol lowering "statins" can actually be a factor in onset of Alzheimer disease? That saturated fats such as coconut oil and red palm oil are not only good for your brain but also good for your cardiovascular system and provide a whole host of nutrients that are vital to good health, particularly for the aging like me?With the present decline in health insurance provision due to sky-rocketing costs I am learning that I have to take responsibility for my health. The author has a gift for explaining the science of nutrition, particularly the role and importance of saturated fats in our diets, in a way that is not only understandable by lay people such as myself but enjoyable to read. The content is supported and documented by research that supports every concept. If in doubt, check his footnotes. This book is not just for the aging. I wish I had this information when I was in my 30's.I plan to add comments in the future when I have completed this book and three other of Fife's books which I now have in my possession. For now I have added both coconut oil and red palm oil (virgin for both) to my diet. I have consumed more saturated fat in the last 30 days, have more energy, and beginning to loose weight. Who would have thunk it?

need more time, but so far so good
I would need more time on the recommendations before I could give it 5 stars, but so far so good. On these recommendations I already have some of my lost energy back and I seem already to be just a bit more clear and sharp. I had been trying to use diet only to keep my test values as low as my physician wants, so that I stop being constantly harassed to begin using several drugs that I've always refused. I feel good that I've refused because now class action lawsuits are ongoing for each of them for the serious side effects they cause. But trying to keep all these values as low as my physican wants, I have progressively lost energy, lost muscle tone, lost clarity and memory. While I don't think it's realistic to expect these recommendations to have all those values please this physician after only 2 months before the next round of tests is scheduled, thanks to this book I'm now I'm armed with good research to feel confident that, no matter what those values turn out to be, I'm on the right track. I may have to find a new physician. The book does already get 5 stars from me for its organization, ease of finding information, well-documented information, and clear presentation.

Very informative.
This is a great book, that explains the many ways we "contribute to our own medical issues, through food and big Pharma, and how in the early stages, and with the right diet, dementia can be changed. Very much worth the read.
