No symptom list, not treating HIV w/ EO
I currently don't use essential oils much beyond as a way to add fragrance to my wax melts, or occasionally added into some DIY cleaning products. However, I do some prepping, and wanted to add to my library about various life subjects, especially including that which pertains to our health. I figure adding in a book on how to use essential oils offers another facet of of options when/if SHTF or TEOTWAWKI, or even short term crisis. I've also added in nutrition books, herbs, anatomy, other medical texts, and so on. We will need some books when there is no internet to rely on!Some people may use it in the meantime instead of modern medicine, or in addition to. I totally get that. I think EOs can be great some applications. Did you know a popular, name brand, respected mouth wash is comprised of 3-4 essential oils?As for this book, is it worth adding to collection? Short answer, NO. I will tell you why:What this book does have:This book provides a primer on essential oil use. It discusses Usage, dosage, methods of application, carrier oils, guidelines, purity, what essential oils are (their compounds, constituents), a little bit of the history, and possible contraindications (with other meds). The beginning part is informative, and makes for a worthwhile read (say, 61 pages)What it doesn't- and this is the deal breaker:It has lists of ailments, but doesn't describe what they are. So you might know you have toe fungus and can find the recipe of how to treat it, but some ailments you can't look up if you don't know what you have. Like, unless you happen to know what the symptoms are of emotional shock, or compartment syndrome, ecthyma, wolf parkinson white syndrome? Or maybe you have some medical background, ok, so is it Giardia or cryptosporidosis? Hypothyroid or Hashimotos? You better know the symptoms for each, as the treatments/protocol are different. etc. etcSo, NO description, NO symptoms. NO way to learn that from this book. I say it again.. there is no symptom list, and there are no symptoms listed along with how to treat the ailment. If this included a way to look up symptoms, OR if the ailments they decided to include also included a list of symptoms, it would be much more beneficial reference book.. at least in terms of some of the more basic ailments. (ie; toe fungus. acne, bruises, chapped skin, etc)Then, even if it had a symptoms included, some of the ailments are in my uneducated guess are not all that treatable with essential oils. At least not without A LOT more information. This somewhat useless sections takes up the remainder of the book (lages 66-158)DANGER:This book lists treatment with essential oils for CANCER, AUTISM, ASPERGER SYNDROME, HIV, BRAIN INJURY, RABIES, and so on with no further discussion or explanation. Few drops of this and that, rub it here and there.. and... ????There is just not enough information beyond the basic introduction.

Essential Oils Simplified….
I really do like this handbook (I don't know if it's actually considered to be a "handbook"or not, but that's how I personally see it).It keeps things simple and quick at hand. If I need or want more in depth information, I go to my BIG, THICK, HEAVY Essential Oils Desk Reference. But mostly, the EODR is overwhelming for me… in most instances, so now I most often use my "Surviving…." book. The print is comfortably larger than most books & easy to read. The layout is appealing as well.I would like to see the graphics images improved upon. For instance, when looking at the Vita-Flex Foot Chart, some of the organs are not listed, such as the pancreas. You have to think out of the box a bit to know to go to the Internal Organs Chart and see that the stomach & pancreas are indicated in the same area. HOWEVER, even then, the information with regard to treating Diabetes via the Vita-Flex Foot Chart is confusing, as it says, "the Vita-Flex point is on the 'outer edge of the left foot' about midway down" …. There is nothing marked on the Vita-Flex Foot Chart indicating anything associated with the pancreas ...& the stomach point is indicated to be on the right foot, nearer to the inner edge and slightly in toward the arch…. that is conflicting & confusing .Overall though, I would likely recommend it, and I 'may' buy a 2nd copy to have on hand.

Great Booklet, simple step to freedom from Modern Western Medicine (which Kills).
Great little booklet. Any thing to sway your dependence of modern western medicine may just save your life and extend it by many years. Modern Western Medicine is a product of ONE man, and he wasn't even a Doctor. Rockefeller the New York Tycoon took it upon himself to dictate what could and could not be taught in Medical schools near 100 years ago. Failing his rules meant the school would not be accredited and without that, becoming a licensed physician would be impossible. Ask most Doctors and at least 80% will respond to questions of supplementation of nutritional products with "Bah Humbug, Vitamins are all garbage", and if driven to tell their REAL thoughts, "You need to take all these prescriptions I've given you, granted they will most likely shorten your life by many years, plus they WILL invariably cause more problems which will require myself to prescribe more needless drugs and there will be wellness complications for the rest of your SHORTENED life. But gee whiz I need to make my Bentley and Yacht payments". The AMA plus Big Pharma have more clout and have killed more then all deaths throughout WWII (All Sides).

Excellent book to help guide anyone into better health using essential oils, the most ancient medicine on our planet.
This is a great guide book using therapeutic grade essential oils to help support taking our health care into our own hands when we can. We do not need to run to a doctor if we get a cold, we can utilize essential oils to help us with everything from A-Z Why would something so ancient and so prized by the great kings and queens and Pharaohs and by Jesus himself, still be used and used more than ever now still hundreds of thousands of year later. When something of high quality still remains this many years later, i think this tells us that this is something that works, that has sustained from ancient days gone by. De. Scott Johnson is a great educator and really know his essential oils wisdom. I must finish here by saying that it is imperative to use ONLY tried, tested and true oils that are NOT from the health food store and from a company that plants, harvests and distills their own oils that is a seed to seal process without any filers, chemicals added and synthetic anything. The only oils i know to be of this integrity are theYoung Living Essential Oils. Don't waster your precious time, energy and money looking elsewhere, Do your own homework and research on this!
