Great quality
I am building a so called "Solar Generator" and needed a solution for connecting my AC power appliances and devices externally, as my power inverter is mounted inside a weatherproof box. Enter this outlet. I got two of them and mounted them to the lid of the box. Now I can simply plug in when I need power. These outlets have a weatherproof cover to protect the outlet when not in use. Installation was a breeze. I just cut a hole with a hole saw, inserted the outlet and secured it with two screws. I then simply plug in the outlet to my inverter. No complex wiring needed, and if I need my inverter for other uses, I can simply unplug these outlets and remove it. These outlets are great quality and perform as needed. They have made my generator design easier to use and operate. They are a terrific value for the price and quality. I give them 5 stars.

Beware of complications
This was my choice of similar products. It is well made, and I’m impressed with the quality of the receptacle itself - because I had to replace the cord. I decided to use this item in a new, replacement outdoor electrical box I was installing. The old box, a simple 4-square outdoor box had become compromised over the years and was in bad shape. So i wanted to replace it with a new, better version, and selected a larger open/closeable box for this purpose. But because these kinds of boxes don’t really mount receptacles/ switches well, I decided to mount a new 4-square box inside the new weatherproof one. Then I realized that I would have to open the new box, and leave it open, if I wanted to use a receptacle. So that’s when I decided to use this device: as a way to expose a receptacle without having to open or keep open my new weatherproof box. Everything worked exceedingly well - except that I forgot to consider that this unit has a “straight” molded plug, and when I added its “distance” to the mounted 4-square box receptacle, I could no longer close the new box. I had to replace the original cord with one that had a 90-degree plug (and I actually had some difficulty finding one with heavy-enough wires). So that’s my headline - be careful of complications - it’s the details that might impact your implementation. Other than that - it’s been in service about a month now and everything seems great.

Good quality. Another person said item was not rated for outdoors but it seems pretty solid. Cap stays closed in Canada Vancouver Island. I decided at the last minute to use 12/2 instead of supplied 14/2 plug as i wanted to plug into my 2000 watt inverter and did not want to go too light. For the sake of a couple bucks it was worth it. It took a bit to figure out red black green from the supplied black white green but that’s not their fault. 12/2 screwed in fine and connections and outside plug seem like good quality. I have no idea about code compliance and maybe the supplied plug and inverter will only take 15 amp anyways but that’s ok. I did not want voltage loss on inverter to plug (nominal 3 feet) but it seems good and is cool to the touch.

I wanted to put a plug on the outside of my vehicle, hooked to the inverter and this was the only flush mount weatherproof one readily available. Pros: It's basically just a fancy cord cap, the back comes off and you can attach any three wire cord you want to it. It's flush mount and low profile, so you won't have any boxes sticking out. The weather cap looks to be water tight. Cons: The cord it comes with it is 16" long, basically worthless if you're doing a permanent installation, you can plug that into an extension cord or cut the end off an extension cord and replace the pigtail it comes with. This really should have a locking ring on the back, it is only held in place with two screws on the front, this leads to uneven pressure on the gasket, I recommend drilling two more holes and using 4 screws to install this if you're worried about leakage. The two screws it comes with are not stainless so they will likely rust.
