A good book on an exceptional artist
If you are a Neil fan (or full on fanatic) this book is a good addition to any library you may be building on this phenomenal artists and man. Writing is solid, info is accurate, pics are unique. There are enough books out there on Neil now that finding one that doesn't suck is a bit of a trial. I bought this volume fully prepared to return it if it did not meet my standards; it's still on my shelf. I don't think Neil's life can be put into one book, so this makes a nice addition to the others I have. Recommended.

A Collectors Dream
This book gives a great and straightforward chronological documentation of Neil from childhood to stardom. I have followed Neil Young for years and read nearly everything that was written about him. But this book reveals little facts I had never known before. It gives final meaning to many of the things I wondered about. This book is great for the hard core fan and it is equally great for someone who wants a concise easy read snapshot of this icon of Rock. The pictures are worth the price alone.

Great coffee table book
Looks great, short tidbits about his life, nice size, good condition, a little worn but not bad. Very happy with the purchase.

Purchased 4 additional copies!
My admiration for this "coffie table" book resulted in purchasing 4 additional copies to give as presents to close friends and fellow "Neilophytes".

Good for the coffee table
This is a well illustrated guide to the all of Young's albums up to Le Noise. it covers his work with Springfield and CSN&Y and Crazy Horse. There is more to Neil Young and his career than appears in this book, but it is a decent enough effort with enough background to be of interest. Almost 300 pages to flick through or go back and read. It looks good and is a perfect to have on the coffee table.

ALL ABOUT NEIL.........
Absolutely definitive. Highly recommended. Having bought nearly everything available about Neil - including his recent autobiography - this is up there with the best. A must.

A Fun Large Format Hardback Book
OK so I've been a fan of Mr Young since the 60s and have bought shed loads of music by the man, and also enjoy books about him. This large format high quality hardback is a beauty if you want light reading and some background history, but not if you want to know a little more. However if you want a book that looks good and in the main goes through his recording history, then you'll love this! There's plenty of photos, discography and enough to interest the casual or more dedicated fan in my opinion, and if left lying around on a coffee table will bound to be picked up and scanned by friends. But if you want to get to know more about Neil, then I recommend his autobiography Waging Heavy Peace or the excellent biography by Jimmy McDonough "Shakey". If you're really keen, then have a go at Johnny Rogan's tome Zero To Sixty. All in all a worthwhile buy then, but there's better books about Neil out there for me.
