One of Kirk Douglas is great Movies
This movie came out when I was a young man and I’ve always enjoyed seeing it. I particularly love the ending. I also liked all the adventures they went through. So if you’re looking for something nostalgic, this is it if you want something that showcases Kirk Douglas, you can’t find much better than this, I enjoyed every minute and I hope you do too

Childhood memory
I saw this movie at the theater here when I was a boy. I thought it was great. Now that I've seen it again, I see the parts of the Odyssey that the movie left out or moved thru quickly. That's ok. I read the book! The end of this movie is the best part as was the ending of the Odyssey in print. The voice-overs did lose some syncing, but that's ok. I understand this movie was taken from pieces of the movie that were cobbled together because the original prints were in bad shape. That's ok. I still enjoyed it.Perhaps I'm easily satisfied or I don't mind that this movie isn't perfect. It's not but that doesn't matter to me. Perhaps you'll enjoy it too!

Language is in Italian ONLY
DON’T BUY! The description is in english. You’d think the movie was in english, not so, it’s in Italian. Waste of money! I pressed cancel order and it wouldn’t cancel. Update: I message chatted with Amazon’s customer service and they refunded my money. Thank you Amazon. Please remove the digital version of this movie.

Simply amazing classic
This movie is excellent if you like old books turned into films. It's got nice acting and follows the story pretty well, but it's kinda slow in some parts.

A MOST WELCOME RESTORATION
Why so many dreadful old movies got the blu-ray treatment, and not “Ulysses” has been a mystery to me for many years, but it has finally happened. The restoration is very good as far as the rendition of colors and image sharpness, but I had read somewhere years ago that this was the first Italian film in the (then) “new” wide screen process and that it also boasted stereophonic sound (after all, the film music is available in a stereo cd), so this square format mono release came as a bit of a disappointment to me. The other plus for this KL blu-ray is that the original Italian track is available with English subtitles, where the very first release offered tracks in Italian and French, but no choice in subtitles whatsoever. The second release offered only the English dubbed version and the same pale print. This Kino Lorber job is definitely superior. By today’s CGI standards the effects are quite quaint, but they are nevertheless on a more “realistic” scale. Kirk Douglas is obviously having a romp here and Sylvana Mangano is what movie stars were all about. Though I once more take my hat off to Kino Lorber for restoring movies made before the 21st century, I will limit myself to recommending this release to Douglas and nostalgia fans. The smart phone set will not be impressed.

Not recommending if you don't like the Sub-Title on your screen.
Very disappointed. This was made in Italy, the language is all Italian with English subtitles. Be careful...

Yes!
Classic Italian sword and sandal movie. I was really impressed with the cyclops effect for the age of the film. The bluray pic quality is also amazing. This will likely never come to 4K so this is gonna be as good as it gets.
