Not as bent as a Gurkha Kukri, but a heck of a knife.
My only "what on Earth?" moment was when pulling it from the supplied sheath the first few times. The large teeth on the spine of the knife face "the wrong way" (by my reckoning) and each one gets caught on the hem of the sheath on the way out, unless or until you learn to draw it properly. Once you do know how to draw it properly, this might be one of the only general-purpose camping utility knives you'll ever need to own. Cosmetically, it's a bit blah, and even looks a bit cheap, but that blade is sharp as a laser, and very well balanced indeed, and that cheap-looking handle is surprisingly comfortable. I haven't yet cut down a tree with it, but frankly I'd like my odds if I had to.

A high quality knife
This is a high quality knife. I thought that it would be the typical machete type of pewter blade which does not hold a edge. This has a steel blade and is very impressive to look at and hold. Mine is very sharp right out of the box. Two of these would look fantastic hanging as crossed swords in the finest of living rooms. The published description of this item on Amazon does not do it justice.

Great Machete
I have had it for about a month and the first thing I did once I had received it in the mail was check the sharpness and I found myself pleased with it nice and sharp. After that, I put it on my belt and practiced pulling it out, (which I found unconfortable when doing so with it on my left hip) but when i had it on my right hip it came out with ease, so if you're right handed this might not suite you, unless you can get used to it. So I went out snowshoeing with it in my pack and once I pulled it out, making a trail was easy, it was a succesful trip in the outdoors. Its shorter than some machetes, but fits in a day pack or something perfectly. The only complaint about it that I have is that the snap that holds it into the shealth tore off after a week of use, that downed my day, but other than that, great machete I'm still well pleased with it and have no regrets of perchasing it.

Good comfortable grip
I was bummed that I'd have to wait 2 weeks to see this beauty. Low and behold I come home from work to find a priority mail 3 day marked box. I was estatic. I really appreciate the haste. The blade turned out to be well worth the price paid. Good comfortable grip, a fine edge, and a surprisingly as advertised size. The sheath looks pretty standard, but for $26 I really dont care. Quality product.

The sack for this knife is no good, I repeat the sack for this knife is ...
The sack for this knife is no good , I repeat the sack for this knife is NO GOOD..I went hiking -----so i took my new United Cutlery Kukri Machete with me , so I took the blade out of the sack a couple of times to cut some trees and to cut a stick for one of my fellow hikers only to realize that the sack for this Machete is coming apart, with the in and out of the sack the knife cut the treading that hold the sack together ...poor design, poor material that holds the knife itself. Please be guided accordingly.

Heavier and sharper than I expected
This knife has so many sharp edges that I was afraid to play with it when I first got it. The hand guard on it is loose and rattles a little. That would be a deal-breaker on a $100 knife, but at this price I'm not complaining. In fact, I liked it so much that I bought a second one.

The sheath is worse than useless
You can't draw the knife from the fabric sheath, because the gimicky notches on the spine of the knife catch on the sheath. I just returned the knife, and didn't even try sawing any logs with those notches, but I expect they aren't all that functional. And if you were planning to use the knife in a fight for your life, those notches would also catch and hang up on your attackers clothes, etc. There are practical reasons that even fighting knives and swords have smooth spines.

Good for hacking and sawing
I'll start with it is awesome looking. However it is not sharp out of the box. The serrations are. After running it through about two times through my lansky sharpener to put a usable edge on it - it is an amazing tool. Primarily for hacking and sawing. Very sturdy construction. I have zero complaints.
