These clamps are a little quirky - but still excellent and are a must have!
I have the 7" 10" 11" and (2) 19" one without swivel pads. One of the 19" has extension arms -"U" shaped channels -that are slightly wavy or distorted but this has no impact on how well the tool works and for me is no reason to return. Otherwise the build quality and feel of each clamp is excellent. I am not so sure the texture grip slips any less than a standard grip but when I want to grab a self-adjusting clamp from the rack under my welding table it helps tell them apart from the regular manually adjusted clamps. The 7" doesn't fully release when I squeeze the release trigger at the tail end - at first I thought I would return the 7" but in use this is actually rather handy as it is the most-springy of all and it allows me get my fingers out of the way before nudging the handles open. Whiplash on the larger clamps is not an issue perhaps due to their overall weight. My hands are large I can work the two smaller models easily with one hand while the 11" is a bit of an effort and the 19" is really a two-handed clamp mostly due to weight. There would be relatively few clamping positions that could be attained using one hand on the 19" clamp. When clamping it helps to pay attention to the pads lining up to each other, otherwise they can clamp and then slip. There is bit of a learning curve on these clamps, but their operation is nothing short of brilliant and there is no way I would do without them. Surprisingly their clamping force is excellent. I expected them to be weaker than a standard clamp but they are clearly stronger applying greater clamping pressure for a given hand pressure. The release lever is more accessible than on a Vice-Grip. I have only just now looked at the chhanson.com website where they claim 7x faster 2x stronger and 100% easier. For me 7x faster is a push but stronger and easier absolutely! I have read here of people pinching their hands and I can see how this is possible. Being mindful when using these clamps is important and they do feel a little awkward at first. Half the time I wear a thin fabric machinists glove on my right hand but the rest of the time I'm glove free. The 11" with swivel pads is a large clamp compared to standard locking welding clamps and was a great introduction for me.Bottom line - while not perfect these are absolutely 5-star.

One of the five best tools I bought this year
Of the many clamps I use, a few are the go-to favorites for their particular strengths. They are on my A list. These Hanson 19" self-adjusting locking clamps are on my A list.1. The constant pressure feature is uncanny, and works. I work with wood. Too much pressure leaves marks, but some wood is more tender and needs less pressure. It takes two seconds to adjust the pressure. Then it stays that way.2. Once adjusted to the material, it DOES NOT MATTER what the thickness is. As the clamps move to different spots with different thickness, there are no more settings. Just squeeze hard. That's it.3. The long reach of the 19" clamp gets to places that would normally not get a clamp, or would need some crazy Rube Goldberg construction with scrap blocks, multiple clamps, etc. Basically, sometimes you need a Sky Hook. Sky Hooks are scarce. These long reach clamps are NOT scarce. They are right here in my shop. Magic.4. They have been very hardy. I often work outside. Rain happens. These Hanson clamps laughed at the rain. In five years they might be showing their age but after a year they still look brand new (except for some glue spots).5. An unexpected feature is that they can swivel a bit without unlocking. This is really nice when cleaning up fresh glue squeeze out.It was a lucky day when I searched for long reach clamps and found these 19" clamps from Hanson. ONE OF THE FIVE BEST TOOLS I BOUGHT THIS YEAR.

Self-adjusting feature outshines the design flaws
I bought one of these clamps to try out, and after my first project with it, I'm ready to buy another. We'll see how things go, but I might also buy a few more down the road. So far I've used it to clamp jigs onto wood, and to clamp 2x4s together for sawing, and it worked great. It was awesome not having to adjust a screw each time I needed to clamp something of a different thickness. What I like:* easy to use* way faster than a normal C clamp or hand vise* easy to release* easy to adjust tensionWhat I don't like:* dangerous kickback when releasing the clamp--the severity of kickback seems to be proportional to the tension you set with the adjustment screw* you can pinch your hands when tightening--I've slightly pinched my fingers and the meaty part of my hand on separate occasions.* handles are too narrow and not quite long enough* handles are not cushioned/wrapped in rubber (but perhaps most people who buy these clamps use them for welding and the rubber would melt)So far I've only mildly hurt myself when using this clamp, so at this point I'd say the auto-adjusting feature trumps any of the drawbacks that I've noticed so far.

just my opinion
they are good pliers, strong hold and a aggressive bite, but I'm buying some engineer pliers

Five Stars
nice and easy to use and speeds up having to juggle around to try and clamp stuff together.
