Gift for grandson (11 years old) for Christmas. He and his father have a nightly chess game, so nice. He loves how portable it is and he is now teaching his 7 year old brother how to play.

I bought this for my husband's birthday and he loves it! He's been teaching our 5 year old to play and the magnets help keep the pieces on the board. We especially like that there are slots for each piece so we know we have them alland they don't get all mixed up during storage. Our two year old managed to sneak the chess set and lose to pieces so we contacted the seller to see if the could sell us the individual pieces and she was kind enough to send us the two we were missing. Awesome company and great chess board!

My daughter is obsessed with chess. This is perfect since pieces are magnetic. Brought it on a plane and no pieces lost.

A little thicker when folded than expected, and it would be nice if it locks in the open position when it's opened up. Otherwise it's such a nice board for the price and I'm extremely happy with it so I gave it a five star rating. I didn't have any problem with the pieces not being magnetic, they stick well enough for use on an airplane. I like to play it on the airplane with my daughter when we travel. For use on an airplane I recommend keeping a little container or Ziploc bag or something with it. This makes it easier to transfer the pieces out of the case when setting up the board. As long as the manufacturer has good quality control, you should expect to get a pretty nice board.

I am really happy with this chess set for my child. The magnetic pieces are nice so that they are not accidentally knocked over during a game. Also each piece has a slot, so it's nice to make sure you have them all and no pieces get lost. It is very sturdy and I am happy with this purchase.

I got this chess set for my 11 year olds birthday since getting it the whole family will play. It’s a great first set for someone who wants to learn the game. The magnetic pieces are perfect and help with not losing any pieces. This set folds up and is perfect storage for the game pieces.

The set itself is nice and it’s good to have magnets to keep the figures in their places, however the board arrived damaged which spoilt the fun. The cost of it is pretty high , so I wasn’t expecting damaged edges for this amount of money .

Not too small, not too big. The set opens flat for smooth play. The magnets are strong enough to hold the pieces firm under regular conditions. Love that it comes with 2 extra queens and that each piece has a molded storage space on the back of the board. I don't use the checkers but they came in a nice little cloth bag. Sweet little set.

From some of the other reviews I’m gonna guess that they briefly had a bad manufacturer. My set has none of the potential issues, rather I’m quite impressed by the quality. I was buying for a child but this is a fantastic cottage or travel set. I like that the pieces fit into impressions so kids will realize that they dropped a piece ASAP.

La planche est un peu brillante, mais semble bien résister aux rayures. Mes petits s'amusent et le différentiel étant magnétisé, cela évite bien des accidents et des confusions entre eux lorsqu'ils touchent accidentellement la planche.
