Works great
I got this for the price and wasn't expecting much. Putting it together is pretty simple, tightening the bolts is key. Ialmost gave up because I was tired and didn't want to mess with it. Took a breather and took the time to tighten each bolt, and it was worth it. After reading some other reviews, I made sure to bungee the wheels and also bungeed the body of the bike to the rack. I have a beach cruiser, so it didn't sit exactly right like a street bike or mountain bike would. I had a lot to move and forgot to take a picture of my bike on the rack, but it stayed put. I drove 70mph for 5.5 hours and it was in the same position when I arrived at my destination. Pretty impressive. Making sure all the nuts and bolts are tightened is really key to make sure it doesn't wobble excessively. And the pin you can take out so you can open your tailgate without removing the rack completely is an awesome feature. It also had straps to hold two bikes. My bike is pretty heavy and it geeks up well. I definitely recommend if you're on the fence.

Excellent 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack for under $60.00 US!
OK, I have read a number of negative reviews about the MAXXHaul Bike bitch Mount 50025 complaining that the rack wobbles or the bikes wobble somewhat while driving. I have been using this bike rack for 6 months now and quickly learned that the hitch mount locking screw needs to be tightened down using a ratchet wrench, not the flimsy wrench provided with the rack. This will help ensure that the rack is completely stable in the 2" hitch, (which, by the way, fits perfectly in my Lincoln Navigator 2" trailer hitch). Regarding bike wobble, this is easily overcome with the use of bungie cords around the rack center post and bike frame, and Velcro tie-down straps to stabilize each of the wheels. This takes very little effort and minimal additional expense to ensure that your bikes are mounted securely and safely. If you wish to be doubly secure, you can also attach a Rhino USA Hitch Tightener which will provide an extra level of security against any possible wobble of the mount in the 2" trailer hitch receiver. This tightener is also available on Amazon. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality and utility of this very attractive and well built bike rack. I have used in on both local roads and at highway speeds and i am completely satisfied with this purchase. I recommend it highly!

Seems sturdy enough but was missing a few small parts
I purchased this bike rack due to the number of high ratings and price point. Overall, it seems like a good value. However, when the package was received, the box had some torn areas that were covered with clear packaging tape. So, I suspected that the box was damaged somewhere between the manufacturer and my front door, and there was likely one or several parts missing. When I opened the box and inventoried everything against the install guide, I was correct. It was missing a lock nut and two washers. I knew the local hardware store would have these in stock, so i made a quick trip there in order to get the assembly done quickly. I didn't want to go through the hassle/time of boxing it back up and returning it to Amazon.Once I had all the parts, the bike rack was easy enough to assemble. It was also easy to install in the 2 inch receiver on the back of our SUV. Instead of the normal hitch pin, it uses a special bolt that threads into the receiver portion of the bike rack. The end of that bolt is unthreaded and narrow, so when the bolt , washer and lock washer are tightened on the head end, the opposite end portrudes through so you can insert a pin clip (provided) into it as a safety measure. Also, one nice design feature is that you can pull a pin and tilt the rack forward, which allows you to open the rear hatch without completly removing the bike rack. After I installed it on the SUV, I did some tugging on it to see how sturdy it felt. For my needs, I think it will be more than adequate. We are just using it to get 2 bikes up to the lake (about 1.5 hours away), and also to local parks where we can access the bike trails.Again, my only complaint about it, so far, is regarding the few missing parts. I think the manufacturer could devise a way to ensure the small parts don't get lost if the box is damaged in transit.I will expand my review with "actual use" comments once we've taken it somewhere.

Exceptionally well made
Small and sturdy. Easy to assemble. Great for my 2 road bikes. Lightweight. Not cumbersome like several of my other bike racks which are extremely heavy. This rack stores easily and does not take up a lot of space. Does well on backroad travel. Very happy and will purchase another for my grandson.

Superb design, strong, and still small enough to stow easily inside the car
I bought this with a bit of trepidation, thinking maybe the low cost would mean it's not strong enough for a long trip. In my first use I drove almost 600 miles at up to 85mph (mostly freeway, but some rough side roads as well)... this rack stayed tight and at no time did either of the bikes come close to falling off. One note: I added three bungee cords to lock the bikes to each other and keep the pedal of the inside bike off of my tailgate. I removed only the quick-release front wheels of both bikes to avoid melting any rubber with my exhaust. Bonus: by using a ratchet wrench, the carrier cannot be removed unless someone brings tools— and I saw no need for additional clamps. I have a Class 1 hitch so I didn't need the adapter, but that's included for Class 2. I really love how compact and effective this is!
