Natural Liquid Food Coloring Set – Plant-Based, Dye-Free, Non-GMO, Allergen-Free, 3 Bottles (Red, Yellow, Blue), 1.265 oz – India Tree Nature’s Colors

I’m super excited to have found dye-free food coloring without polysorbate 80! If you’re not familiar with that ingredient, I highly suggest doing some research. These worked really well for me. I could probably have gotten the colors even more vibrant with a bit more effort, but I wasn’t too worried about it, still very happy with the results.

Love this! Made play dough for my 14 month old, all the colors turned out great! The yellow is VERY saturated compared to the others, but did not stain my hands, or the counter!!

My daughter is vegan and very mindful about what she eats, so ingredients really matter to her—and she absolutely loved these. I love that they’re plant-based, dye-free, and don’t have all the artificial junk you usually see in food coloring. The colors worked great for baking and decorating and didn’t change the taste at all, which is huge. It’s such a relief to find a clean option that actually performs well. If you’re trying to avoid artificial dyes or cook for someone who eats clean or vegan, these are a great buy.

Like with any natural bases product, there are things you need to do. Stir the dyes with a chopstick or toothpick bc they do settle or separate (all natural stuff does). Also, if you are a baker, then you already know that all food dye, even toxic synthetics have a curing process. There are ways we bakers have to ensure the product is vibrant. The sunflower cake is all natural dyes, ones used form this specific kit were the blue and yellow and red. (I used edible charcoal powder as well). Artists as well know how to create colors from only 3. The other two cakes are all of this dye on the sides! So the pictures painted on top of the fondant piece (like a painting) are done with synthetics. BUT the green on the butterfly cake, and the orange yellow and red pink sunset siding on the wave cake, are all from the dyes from this kit!

Ordered it twice, and both times the yellow bottle was almost completely used up/ dried out on arrival. I was able to mix it with a little water and it worked just fine. Other people seem to be having various problems with the yellow as well. The bottles do NOT come sealed. The other two colors were just fine though. The color could be better: you need to use a lot of this dye to get a saturated color, especially red. I'd say it's a good value for the money considering it's all natural and it's easy to use. It has a slight smell which should not affect the taste or smell of what you're making.
