I use this in my car. It is firmly attached to the dashboard and holds my phone safe and still when I'm driving. I am SO happy with it!!! :-)

I just installed it and so far so good! Easier to install than I thought it would be. More sturdy than others in that price range.

One problem with having a Jeep Patriot car is that all these mounts just don't work because they're not long enough. It's not this device's fault as almost all of them have this problem. The windshield is just too far from the dashboard and it's never long enough.BUT, I got this more for the magnetic clip for the phone/tablet. For that, this is a great thing to buy. I put the magnetic plate on the outside of my tablet case and now can just mount and remove with one hand which saves a lot of frustration.I used an older mount I had which I found that is long enough and it mounts on that just fine. The magnets are nice and strong too. I went on some back roads with a Samsung S9 tablet Ultra which is a 14+" tablet and pretty large. If it can hold onto that while driving and bouncing around a little, it can hold your tablet or phone easily enough. It comes with multiple plates so you can use multiple devices or choose the best one for you.So ultimately, the magnet part is the big sell for me. For that, it did exactly what I needed it to do.

I feel like if the platform had a larger and stronger base, my phone wouldn't bounce around as much. I will be honest that I drive a Tacoma but also just paid over $2 grand on tires and well over another grand on the front suspension alone. So I don't feel as though the phone slipping down further and further the more I drive is due to my truck being the faulty issue. Make the plate larger and with more magnets and I'm sure there will be more 5 stars ahead.
