Your DVD R-W drive has to support dual layer disks
Always had good luck with Verbatim products. The Dual-Layer technology was the ticket to creating a DVD that held an .iso file exceeding 4.7 GB.

works fine
This is the first time I've had to buy dual layer dvds. I got them to burn a movie I made onto it. I want the best quality I can for this movie and something that always affects the quality of a dvd is the burn speed you set it at. I set this one to x2 or even x1 just to be safe. The two copies I made came out fine. Burning a dvd at it's fastest speed possible is just asking for trouble. Always take the safe route and go for the slow burn and they'll turn out fine!

Reliable discs, no coasters, no trouble reading them in various devices.
Had no problem at all writing to these discs, even when using both layers. There was no trouble with reading them either in any of my devices. I was even able to burn at 4.8x, which is a faster speed than the 2.4x that shows on the package. Very happy with this purchase, will use Verbatim discs again in the future.

The Best for burning long-playing Hi-Def DVDS
As someone who created a low budget movie, for better or worse, and wrote, directed and produced a feature film (Caution to The Wind-2010), I used These Excellent dual layer Dvds to burn my first "Director's Cut" Dvds. The best, IMHO, for those of us without that Huge Hollywood budget.

Weird Science
I needed DVD-R double capacity disks for a lengthy transcription job. First, I went to an electronics store and bought a package of five "inexpensive" 8MB/240min dual layer disks and then proceeded to record. None of the disks would work in my Vista Media Center - not one. They would begin to burn and get to about 35% copy - and then auto eject. My Vista OS, like Sibyl of ancient days, said nothing to explain the problem. Then I went to Amazon and bought the disk stack noted here. Every one (so far) worked fine. I recommend using my example as a bad and a good one. Beware of deals! It had a happy ending, though, and so I can attest to Amazon selling a product that works. Response time and delivery of the goods was very fine. Customer service is well known as outstanding. I'm a happy camper. Thanks, Amazon! Steve Myers in Bedford PA
