Purchased this for our Brownie troop to contribute to the school library. Perfect tie in to giving/donations and to our Earth Day clean-up project and the girls enjoyed it. Story is thoughtful, educational, and touching. Lots of good content and ideas on "going green" (recycling, reusing, composting, etc.) Gilbert must be the same in all the books ... a bit shy and kind of an average kid. But a genuinely nice kid who's working hard! A nice story. A nice message. A really cute ending.

Earth day book. Students loved Gilbert and friends and their adventure. They laughed and learned and were able to write using this as inspiration. Author writes high interest, humerous books my students love.

Nice book.

Great read for my 1st grader!

I think this is the best of all the Gilbert books. First graders love these stories. The "going green" topic is so timely.

The children liked this book and the pictures, it didn't hold their interest like I thought it would though. They did think the title was funny.
