Not like shown, but perfect for indoor work
OK, so to start, let's suggest that the picture shown at the top of the page is NOT what you get, and the actual item is the shorter club shown in other reviews. That said, it does the job very well!! They are made of cast iron, so my kettlebell loving hands took to them immediately. I'm using these to rehab my shoulders some to improve my coordination, and they fit the bill well for that job. They're also short. How short? 14.5". Arguments about leverage et al don't apply IMHO, b/c the ceiling height will be a limiting factor with those really long clubs. I'm 6' with an open hand reach that is 4" from my ceiling. I can certainly hit the ceiling with the clubs if I try when holding them normally, but your arc of travel for most exercises will not take you that high.Honestly, I was 50/50 on these. I just ordered another 2 pair at 1lb & 2lb for my office to help rehab my patients' shoulders, and honestly, I can probably afford to work with the lighter weights right now. But these are excellent Indian clubs for rehabbing shoulders and getting into basic Indian club moves.

Great starter set
Great starter set. The grip diameter is a bit skinny but very usable. Very well made and easy to swing. Good comfortable coating that grips well enough but can get a little slippery with excessive sweat.

Longer and Rounder Would've Been More Fun
The first set of Indian Clubs that I owned were too light. I got these clubs because they are heavier. But these ones are short. Plus, they don't have that classic bowling pin type of shape. You can still get a full workout with these. But they'd be more fun if they were longer and rounder.

LOVE these guys!!
I’ve had multiple shoulder surgeries from playing ice hockey and have tried a million different things to try to strength it without aggravating them and nothing seemed to work. Initially I got 10 pounds which were WAY too heavy for a beginner. I thought 4lbs would be too light but it’s perfect. I can use it while watching tv and before I know it my arm is so fatigued I can hardly lift it (in a good way). This purchase far exceeded my expectations.

Clubs are great as a standalone functional total body exercise equipment.
Clubs are an interesting addition to my various forms of exercises. I use it for complete flexibility and range of motion of especially upper body and extremities that other exercises don't give. This includes but not limited to wrists, elbows, and shoulders. I can however, use them exclusively for a total body workout for strength, conditioning, balance, and endurance. Recommend to everyone.

GREAT!
The pair of clubs came brand new. They appear to be very durable as well. I didnt know 4lbs were so heavy. I suggest 1 or 2lb clubs for starters and then upgrade to the 4lbs

Texture makes these clubs unusable as is
The texture of the handles of these Indian clubs is very rough. So rough in fact that frequent use would tear the skin of most people's hands, I am going to have to coat them with something to make them usable. The only reason they do not get zero stars is that at least after coating I will be able to use them.
