Budget retro build
My sons old AMD FX CPU finally gave up the ghost. He needed a PC for basic gaming and youtube viewing and of course to get some homework done. I had an old Intel i5 2400 Sandybridge processor in my box of bits and was happy to see that a motherboard was still available. The Biostar is a small and very basic board but it is doing the job OK. It has a huge GPU hanging off it and 16gb of 1600mhz ram and it is in a massive ATX gaming case (it looks a bit lost in there). The only problem so far is that I snapped the PCI lock off because I couldn't get my fat fingers behind the massive GPU to get off and I thought it was clever to use tip of screwdriver.I have not had to flash the bios as everything seems to be working well. The build probably wouldn't play Red Dead Redemption but seems to have managed everything else so far. It will do the lad for the time being.

Beware your PCI locations before purchase, otherwise great for the money.
It's a solid board with everything I needed however beware of the PCI-E ports. I had to spend an extra £20 on a PCI riser and modify my case just to make it fit. My previous MSI mobo that this replaced had the PCI-E 3.0 slot in just the right place for the BitFenix Micro ATX case, this one required me to do some bodge work. Other than that all good. Great performance for a value board.

Design
this is the worst motherboard to ever design and its really low quality, plus the design makes it even worse by making the graphic card slot a very strange position and a very bad measurement.

High failure rate
Works well when it works. The first one I ordered was faulty and the second one failed within two months. Would not recommend
