QED Performance Audio 40i Stereo 2 Phono TO 2 Phono Jack Cable with QED Solid Complementary Conductor™ Technology and Anamate™ RCA plugs (1m)

I use these interconnects to connect my phono stage and also my streamer DAC to my headphone amplifier. I do believe that good quality cables and connectors make a difference, but up to a reasonable point. In my opinion, these interconnects strike a good balance between price and performance.The build quality is very good and the connectors as nice and substantial. The cable is thick so plan ahead to try to avoid any very short radius cable bends in your setup. It isn't much of an issue and is a reasonable trade off for good quality cable.The best thing I can say about these interconnects is that I don't notice then having any discernible effect on the sound. I buy good cables to convey the sound/signal, not to alter it.I would recommend these cables as being effective and very good quality, especially for the price.

Positives: QED signature sound. Used between a Marantz cd6007 and Denon av receiver pulls a bit more detail and high end out of the mix. No loss of bass to my ears. Very good sound and quality construction.Negatives: As pointed out by other buyers the plugs are regular gold plated QED plugs therefore not the plugs advertised. Listing should be updated. As I said above they are still very good. The other negative is the item arrived not postage packed, as in there was an address label stuck straight to the box. I’m not happy with this as I expect the whole item including the manufacturer’s packaging to be protected in another box. RCA cables are guaranteed for life and the box is handy to pass them on to someone else should you chose. Also not pretty giving as a present to someone with a postage label stuck on and the corners of the box knocked up. Not good enough.So 5 stars for product minus 1 star for bad (or in this case no) packaging.

This cable replaced a cheaper cable and it as made a difference to the sound now letting more information through. So is a excellent cable would recommend.

Performance 40i is a great interconnect not just for the money but a good all rounder, I connected it to my Marantz CD6006 cd player and Sony TAFB940R amplifier I have tried many interconnects through the years all have come up short in one area or another my most recent purchase being the Chord Clearway although a good interconnect it lacked punch, the 40i resolved this my music is exciting and enjoyable again, give it a few days to settle and the sound is second to none.

I have QED Reference level cables on my high end hi-fi and these Performance level cables on my Marantz PM7000N, Dynaudio Emit based mid tier daily use hi-fi, sources are Teac cassette deck, Tascam CD recorder, Marantz CD player and Denon FM /DAB tuner with Sony hi Res ripping turntable. I never cease to be truly amazed at the level of detail and timing these cables deliver.

I'm getting great detail from these cables. They are a big step up from the Amazon basics. I also have the matching speaker cables which are truly great. My only criticism of these cables is I find them a little bright at the moment. I'm hoping they will improve over time as the speaker cables did. They are recommended if you want to add a touch of brightness to a dull sounding system. I tried using these cables from my source through preamplifier to amplifier. But I found it a bit fatigued. I have since added other cables into the chain and it has tamed the brightness slightly. But they do offer great detail. When I used them with my blusound node 2i RCA out they made a massive improvement. Recommended
