The Taverns of Tiefenthal

Loved everything about this game! Bought it on a whim and couldn't be happier! It plays fast, its has lots of choices that matter, you will be at the whim of the dice a little but you always have options.The goal of game is to get patrons to come to your tavern, Royals give you the most points but all patrons are worth points and some have abilities that help you. You want to upgrade your tavern using money you earn from patrons (w/dice) and lure more/better patrons in with lots of beer. Each upgrade gets you a Royal patron plus an added ability.If you're looking for a great engine builder game, heavy on theme you should pick this up!

The initial setup and learning the rules are a bit cumbersome, but no worse than most of my strategy games. I really enjoyed the gameplay, mechanics, and the strategy. I can see multiple strategies working and strategies often have to be adapted during your turn, but the strategy isn't so heavy that you are waiting for others to take their turn. In fact, I really like the pace of the game with many parts having all players play at the same time. Highly recommended.

When you see all the moving parts you may feel that this will takes ages to 'get' but this isn't so. Just play 2-3 rounds out of the box and you'll get what needs to be understood. Any rule problems can be solved at board game geek but the game is pretty self-explanatory. It's a lot of fun and you only have to worry about money and beers!

Other than dice that are too light and the little coasters you put your dice on a fun game with an interesting theme. Probably best with all the expansions and modules out. I paid less than 30$ for this game and it was quite the steal. Interesting choices of what to do with either gold or beer. Nice change of pace from zombies and vikings and the old west to run a pub. A bit random, sure you could fill up with guests to quick before you can do anything but either way it is fun. Instruction book was pretty clear and easy to follow. Overall a nice game. The only issues I have is the dice are not great quality and are kinda light. The other issue is the coaster you use to draft your dice, its easy for these light dice to fall off and to lose track of what the rolls were.

Got this game for just my husband and I, it's great! It takes a couple rounds to really figure out to play it, but once you figure it out, you will have endless fun. There are 5 modules you can add to the base game play, to make it a little more difficult or add a little extra. We've also played with all four players, which adds another dynamic and is just as much fun!

The game is fun, offering a lot of replay value through the many modules. The puzzle nature of the board is a nice touch, giving Taverns a calling card that differentiates it from other board games. The table presence if quite impressive and large, so make sure you have the room to accommodate all of the pieces.

The Taverns of Tiefenthal is middle weight Euro that focuses on running your own tavern. You'll work hard to serve guest and attract royals to your modest tavern. Each round you'll make sure your kegs are tapped to serve guest to allow you to earn money to improve your tavern. I love drafting dice and deciding where to activate them to best advance my tavern. The base game plays great, but it gets even more fun when you blend in the included modules. Schnapps being one of my favorites. Once you get the rules down, rounds play quick and it'll be over before you know it. I highly recommend it for gamers looking looking to try a lighter euro that's simple to learn offers a depth of choices. Enjoyed this game from my first play and enjoy teaching others.

Fantastic board game! My partner and I are HUGE nerds and we've been trying to find a good entrance game for our kids to get into that world, this has done it. They are now turning into full on nerds as well! And from that, the nerds will rise to power and take over the country, we shall then make all of our people play these kinds of board games and we shall live in harmony!

Maravilloso juego, cuidadosamente diseñado para digerir sus módulos agregando uno distinto a cada partida. Taverns of Tiefenthal es del mismo diseñador de Quacks of Quedlinburg (ganador del Spiel des Jahres), uno de mis juegos favoritos, y sinceramente, creo que Taverns es más divertido que Quacks.

Ottimo gestionale che funziona anche in solitario con due semplici modifiche (vedi BGG). Consigliato anche ai giocatori meno esperti. I giocatori esperti invece potranno divertirsi con i moduli avanzati (già inclusi nel set base). Un divertimento da taverna, di quelle in cui ti fa piacere tornare.

This is actually a really fun game. Game instructions are in English, the game itself can be played in all languages. For the game itself I give it 5 stars. The problem is that the game instructions are not written clearly, which can be very confusing the first time you play the game.

Les amateurs de JDS de moyenne gamme seront comblés.Les TAVERNES est une bonne entrée en matière.En plus, le sujet est plutôt amusant.Les mécaniques (draft + deck building) se marient bien et on prend plaisir à améliorer sa taverne.On prend des risques et parfois ça passe ou pas !Les quelques add-ons permettent d'enrichir l'expérience de jeu sans tout chambouler.Il a toute sa place dans n'importe quele ludothèque.
