Hidden resources!
Hidden resources! I bought this for use here during hurricanes. Well, hurricane season is now, and I opened the box and took it out so I can get ready to use it. HA! I am not able to OPEn it. The thing is all folded closed,;there is a "latch -- I think that is what it isw -- that it is totally non-operational -- oops! non-openable: it dang sure has operated and holds it CLOSED! -- I can see the metal rod in the 1/8"-1/4" at the front opening between the two parts, hinged at the back, and I think I see a little depressable rectangular button flush with the case-front (but depressing it does naught). This is a loser. I the 800-number for support -- but, unfortunately, today is not Monday thru Friday, and I guess users are not supposed to have a problem outside that time frame. Conclusion: Although it supposedly does all I want, I will never know, and darnb sure won't buy it again!Let me correct this: I called for help and they promptly and pleasantly solved my problem. The "latch", as it turns out, was the hinge! I was trying to open it from the wrong side: No wonder I had a problem.

Portable TVs/dvds/Roku/hard drive combine
I was searching for a portable player that I could use a hard drive with movies on it to play anywhere. I needed an AV port and they are not all that easy to find. I have a 2tb hard drive with a few hundred movies on it and also purchased a Roku. The combination allows me to play the movies through the player and also watch TV shows, netflix, Amazon streaming, etc where I have WiFi. The player works fine for this purpose with one exception, as noted elsewhere in another review there is no volume control for the signal connected to the AV port. You get full volume with no control on the player. I have two fixes; one was using headphones with volume controls and the other was installing a volume control (actually I did both). The headphones work fine when I'm alone but if others were watching I need an external volume control. I added volume controls on the cables connecting the Roku to the AV port and thus have my external volume control. It is a cheep fix but it would be nicer to have controls on the player to deal with volume control. All the rest of the controls and the player itself have performed great using the dvd/Roku combination.

Bad thing on my part is I took to long ...
Recieved this product; took it out of the box to try it out. It will not pickup any TV stations. I live within 40 miles of three prominent stations that broadcast CBS, NBC and ABC but can not pickup any of them on this product. Took the unit outside as the people at Azend told me to do and still get nothing. Have contacted Azend several times now and all they have to say is thy are sorry and there must not be any TV signals in my area. I find this hard to believe. This product in my opinion is a piece of junk and I wouldn't give it way let alone sell it to anyone. And as for Azend Group Corp. who distributes this product I would avoid any other products they handle. Bad thing on my part is I took to long before checking TV out and could not return it.

Not a bad portable tv unit
It's pretty good.Screen is a little dark, but has good color. Good picture. A lot of the picture quality is of course determined by the signal, and quality of the broadcast. The antennae that comes with the unit is almost useless; I got 6 channels with it, and I live in a good sized city/area. I bought the August DTA 240 antennae, and it was an improvement... got about 11 channels with it. Though holding the signal can be a problem at times.Speakers are "tinny" sounding and too much treble, but are workable. Sound is higher quality and volume option on tv mode, than on DVD mode.DVD play is good. It shines in this area. Sound tho is a bit too quiet.Worth the $75 I paid.Battery holds a charge for a bout 1.5hrs on the unit I received.

I LOVE IT, but not good for the TV part !!
TV has yet to pick up channels very well. You MUST buy a different antenna unless you're putting the antenna on top of your car or something. Don't buy this for the TV watching as it comes and goes way too much. But I've been living in a tent for a month, watching my dvds and such on it, and I'm VERY VERY VERY PLEASED!!! The only issue with the power cord I had, I just wiggled it (very lightly) and it stopped not charging. When volume button won't work, just hit volume up on the actual tv and then the remote should start working again. Only other thing is that on the tv (not the remote), the chapter forward button is actually the back button, and back is the forward. No biggie. Worth the money already, but I saw cheaper ones for less money at Walmart so check there first. Also, if it won't play a certain disc, take it out, put in a different disc, let it load, then take out and put in the original disc you were trying to watch and BOOM, you're golden. Has a few little "superstitious playing around will easily fix this" concerns, but not enough to avoid the product. I think it's AMAZING and the picture is great ( a little dark watching Ghost Advertures but movies and shows like Family Guy really POP and come to life on this thing). GOOD BUY THO!!!

Good product, but could use some basic improvements.
This is a pretty good product, but there could be some improvements though. The AC charging cord connection is on the right side of the unit, and the antenna cord connection is on the left side of the unit. It doesn't really matter to me which side they are on, but I do wish that they were both on the same side, so that I don't have to be looking all over the place for connection holes. The other problem is the headphone connection is on the right side of the unit. I don't watch the unit from the right side, but from the front. I wish the headphone connection was on the front of the unit. Yeah......I know you can rotate the screen left and right......but that's not the point. The point is that most people will watch this from the front, and therefore the headphone connection should be in the front. On a positive note, I have noticed that I can use the unit without the remote control.....I can even scroll through the menu. That is different from most products.........and that is a GOOD thing. I think you should be able to use a product both with and without the remote.......especially something that is portable.
