Dimensions of the package specified for the cane with an unscrewed handle that's why this value differs from the total length of a cane (these canes are collapsible: the handle and the shaft connected with a screw joint).

Red oak or white oak ?

Red oak imo. I have 2 and both are the Walnut color. Receive many compliments from folks I see on my hikes. If I got another one it would be the cherry.

Taking care do you wax it?

I don't/haven't waxed it. It has a good varnish finish and I don't think it needs it.
