I bought these for my father. He takes blood thinners and so he bruises easily, and so he's always getting a scrape or bruise whenever he does yardwork or fiddles around in the garage.I bought a pair of these because they seemed to be the lightest and most comfortable. I tested them myself when they arrived; they really do provide a huge amount of cut protection. I ran my razor sharp pocket knife across them several times with moderately high pressure, and not a cut. It was shocking how well they worked. Several stab tests with the same knife proved they are also highly puncture resistant (not puncture proof because it is a weave) but they would help a great deal against an errant slip of a sharp object that would otherwise go through a shirt, sweater or even a light jacket. The cut is generous, and the cinching at the elbow end is fairly tight, to keep it from sliding down to the wrist and bunching up.He tried them out working in 90 degree heat. He said they were perfectly comfortable and made him feel much safer and more confident about working, and that's quite a testimonial coming from a retired carpenter/contractor.These are not to be used in lieu of best practices and safety; they aren't body armor. But they're really good as safety gear, and I wish I had bought them for my dad years ago.

Bought these for picking black raspberries. My arms usually get scratched up from the thorns, and wearing long sleeve shirts doesn't help. The thorns don't pierce through these sleeves or get stuck to the fabric.

These are so great for octogenarian parents who insist on mowing and puttering around in the yard but generally flay themselves in the attempt. Difficult bit: getting them to wear the gloves. I advised not to put the "cut proof" to the test. But it did fix the casual scraping against the fence, trees, branches.

I bought these to help protect my sensitive skin from epoxy fumes when working with epoxy. I felt like it helped some but I know that is not the purpose for these. They are very thick and warm. I love that they are washable. They did not roll down on me. They fit from my thumbs all the way up past my elbow. These would be good for people with large arms. Would probably not work for people with very small arms.

I just got put on blood thinners and my dog use to scratch my arms and make them bleed all the time. Since I wear these, not scratches or cuts. They are a game changer for playing with the dog. I am really glad I got them. I read they can even protect against a knife.

Absolutely trash. Purchased as I needed something cut resistant for work. Just arrived not even 5 minutes ago, they look great and fit amazing. HOWEVER, they are NOT cut resistant at all(being the reason I purchased them) after making sure they fit i got curious and took a knife to them. The knife went straight through with almost no resistance at all. Do not buy if buying for that reason you will be highly dissatisfied!
