Dual eSATA II ExpressCard Adapter GoodWay BS1020

Laptop eSata external interface
This card rates some where between a 1 or 2. The card works most of the time, but not all of the time! Big problem: who is the manufacturer? Where is their Website? This card was purchased for an HP DV9548us laptop running Vista 32bit. Thankfully I created a fresh Ghost image before I started the install. In the middle of the 1st install, the process froze. The only recourse was to re-image the laptop from my Ghost copy. The card's instruction sheet was very limited on instructions. OK, So I'll go to the company's website and look for FAQs or some such. Hmmm. No company name, no website, nothing! (this is why I have rated it a 1 and not a 2) The second install worked. As N. Aulman pointed out in his review the card does fit loosely in the Express slot but my HP will hold the card in place provided it is not bumped or the semi-stiff eSATA cable isn't moved. The Laptop did crash over night while this eSATA card was installed (Unusual behavior for this Laptop even with Windows ;-) I haven't had the time benchmark I/O to the external Lacie quad interface drive but the second ghost image I took after the install did run about 20% faster than the first with the USB 2. If I have the chance to Benchmark, I'll update this review with the results. I Do Not Recommend This Card.

Poor fit and doesn't work on MBP17
Unfortunately I selected this item over others with better rating. The reason was greed - more ports, less money. Doesn't fit well into MBP17 slot - poor connection and has to be held in place to maintain connectivity. Appeared to short circuit itself first time I plugged a lead into into it and promptly scrambled an external eSATA drive. Sadly as I live out side the CONUS it will cost me more to return then to write off. This is not a reflection upon the vendor who appears fine - just a poorly constructed product.PS it got one star only cos I had to to post the review

Laptop eSata external sata interface
This little device allows an external eSATA drive enclosure to connect to an express card slot on your laptop. Great for running backups or ghosting a drive to an external SATA drive at full SATA speed. Optional RAID 0 or 1 which is really nice to have should you want that when obviously running multiple external drives. Be sure to get an external enclosure with eSATA connection (try IOGEAR) - this can be a challenge!
